The Bucks have 62M in cap space available right now and it rises to 80M if they can dumb Snell's and Ilyasova's salary... What'syou problem with this?
...all the rest you mention, are also explained if you bother to look... JRSmith's contract only has (excellent) value for some (few) teams... for the Cavs it only has value if used by a third team...
Why do you keep writing dumb instead of dump?
JR Smith's contract has value right now for any team that wants cap space for this free agent period. If they hold onto him then he will be an expiring for next year and have value then.
Just because Ilyasova and Snell balance out a trade for Smith doesn't mean that the Cavs have any reason to make that trade. They would be better off keeping Smith and looking for a better offer than to dump him just to take on 2 multiyear contracts and get essentially a 2nd round pick.
As for the 80 million in cap space, if they can get rid of those 2 and they renounce the rights to all of their players then they would have 80 million in cap space. Brogdan has a cap hold of 3 million right but he is almost certainly going to get at least 15 per this off season. Mirotic is gonna cost money. As is Lopez. And Hill.
