If he gets released, should Seattle pursue him? I bet he'd sign cheaper for a chance to get a ring and there's no point in using the argument, "Our young guys need time!" considering Richardson is on the PUP to start the season and the rest are meh anyway.

Hopefully Johnson could somewhat revitalize his career for a couple years similar to Anquan Boldin and it gives us flexibility in the draft.

I think he will want too much money. We can't swing 10 mil per for him.

If they can fit him under the cap at around 7 mill per, yes. Hopefully their WR's next season are something like this:

1.AJ/VJack/Marshall/DGBeckham
2.Baldwin
3.Richardson
4.Mathews
5.Norwood
6.free agent/draft speedy kick/punt returner like Dorsett/Tyler Lockett

As long as Bryan Walters isn't on the team next year I'm good. You could also replace mathews/norwood with Lockette. Or have Lockette for the first 1/2 season while PRich is on PUP

If Marshawn retires I think we'll immediately offer Andre Johnson 7-8 mil maybe even 9 mil in a short term 2-3 year contract.

Despite what Houston has said about Andre Johnson's "decline" I personally think he's the type of wide receiver that will age very well. Sure, he will never be as explosive as 1500-1600 yard Andre Johnson but he's still capable of being one of the best possession receivers in the game.

I see 80-90 recs 1100-1200 yards still and a big target in the red zone

He probably won't get more than 6 mil/ year so we could get him for that if not less. Look at his numbers last year, even when he was healthy

Looks to me like he's clearly lost a step and not close to durable. Pretty used up who I think will not perform up to whatever contract he's going to get. I think Maclin would be a better bet.

I don't recall thinking of him as a injury riddled WR for his career, but then I haven't really followed his career. Heard someone on the radio compare him to Bolden. A older WR that aged rather well. Sounded about right. I'm not for trading for him, but as a FA, at the right price. Yeah, I'd be for it.

I'd like to get AJ on the cheap for 6 or 7 mil a yr on a two yr contract. He still has good hands and makes a great red zone target for RW to hit the lob in the back corner of the end zone. Rumor is Indy wants him as well opposite side of TY Hilton and that could push his numbers higher which I would not want the Hawks to over spend. The thought is nice though!

The thing is......why would a WR who is passing up a fat contract ( I'm assuming the Texans will end up releasing him) because of reduce role, want to play on a offense were targets to receivers are sparse and at less money.

Because that older WR is past his prime, already had a big payday, and now wants a shot at a ring. It's the natural cycle of things for veteran players.

Agreed... It may be past the point of it being all about money for AJ... I would like to think that a SB ring would be his first priority at this stage of his career...

Maybe guys, but I would think he'd want to play on a team that has a shot at the SB and a offense that would use his talent to the fullest. Also someone that could pay him well.

Hey I would love to see him sign at a team friendly contract, just not seeing it however.

Well, of course. If a team out there can and is willing to give him all 3, then that's probably where he'll end up. Not too many of them out there though. I'm sure he also wanted to stay in Houston and make all that money, but that's not happening either.

I would also be surprised if he ends up here. We just don't have a tendency to bring in aging FAs, especially those who are still relatively expensive.

Andre Johnson needs to go to a team that thinks pass first. Broncos, Colts, Patriots, Cardinals, Chargers are all a much better fit than the Seahawks. If the Hawks lose Lynch, they have think more about getting to the playoffs, let alone a Super Bowl. Resigning Lynch is not going to be cheap and he's playing this perfectly. The Hawks are in the same position as the Patriots and Broncos, you have to take care of the greatest need first and then worry about an aging veteran who has had injury problems the past three years.

An elderly lady put it best. The girls are all coming over for a afternoon of canasta. The dog just shit in the middle of the card tables. What's more important, putting out the candy dishes or cleaning up the shit?

I guess time will tell if I'm right or wrong, but I think many people are vastly overrating what Lynch means to this team's success. He's an important player, but we're talking about a RB in a QB driven league. No RBs have even been drafted in the 1st round the last 2 years.

Brandon Marshall .... ?? Dude has a crazy side, but would give us a serious threat on the outside...

Any word if the Bears are going to trade/cut Marshall? Would love to see him in a Hawks uniform.

Consistant 1100+ yard rusher and 10+ TD's a year is very vital to this teams success. The offense runs through Lynch which opens up so much more for RW. He's a major reason why the Seahawks made back to back SB's.
