Homework assignment

Go look at what people were saying in here after week 1 last year.

Go look on the Saints forum at what was being said after week 1 last year. Same with New England each time they've started slow. Remember how the Packers season was over in 2014?

Football fans never learn from the past and it's hilarious.

Our 2nd half last year Week 1 and game vs Arizona last year was probably worse than this.

Yeah, and we'll still probably win 10 games. This team can win the Super Bowl riding the defense with a little more than a game manager. The offense just has to serviceable. It's September 5th. Tonight was atrocious, but good god people... lol

Overreactions are warranted considering how our coaches and team handled offseason and preseason like we were lockdown tight contenders for the Super Bowl. This game made that attitude look silly and we’ll see if they rally to a wake up call or if it is all smoke and mirrors soon enough. There are no guarantees.

We have an “offensive guru” who hasn’t proven to be an offensive mastermind as head coach. I don’t care how good our defense is, we need to put points on the board. Nagy and trubs didn’t do that. They suck.

There was no question after last seasons first game that we were massively improved so although losing sucked, most saw the forest through the trees and we were blessed to see a step up growing year blossom into a playoff run.

After this game and the expectation along with it that is a result of that step up year I cannot say with any definitiveness that we have improved. Never last year did we drop a 3 point stinker. So yes, this is a much different situation. Long way to go but the little things that showed themselves in this game could be blips or serious issues. It’s normal to be wary of the latter.

Our defense played the best they could. They couldn’t win it for us. Our offense failed misearably. We got nothing this year. Last year it was clear who was best in the nfc from day 1 and they made it to the super bowl. The Rams had a much better offense too.

The Rams were a fringe top 5 team in football and got to the SB on a stroke of luck. lol. Guess who dominated that team last year when Trubisky was horrible? US

New Orleans was regarded as the best all year and were the favorites. You're straight up lying and you know LAR was not favored in the NFC.

Oh, and how about when New England was "done" in September?

This post Week 1 lost talk is ludicrous. You people learn nothing and it is hilarious.

Our defense played the best they could. They couldn’t win it for us.

Yes, we lost a football game. What the fuck universe is this? We also gave up 31 points to the Giants last year in a loss AND lost to the Dolphins and Brock Osweiler.

I understand we all have to get our crying out, but good lord. It's September 5th. We lost ONE game. It was the first time the team had been on the field ALL YEAR.

This reaction is priceless.

It's amazing how fans view Week 1 in the NFL. This is like saying a baseball season is over because you got swept your first series.

Just stop. Log out, grow a pair and come back. Act like you've seen the Bears lose a football game before.

.

Dude, I BEG you to go back to last season's threads around that time. This place was in fire everybody mode. Talking about how we suck again. Page 11, 12 and 13 have those. I was apart of that crowd, but promised myself not to do that again.

Everyone sees how silly these things are in retrospect.

Just like two months from now, you'll all act like you weren't doing this.

Tonight, we sucked. No one is debating that. Who are you arguing with about this?

I agree 100%

However, acting like one of the favorites to play in the SB (with possibly the most dominant individual unit in the league) just saw their season end on September 5th?

Fucking spare me.

Look at how different teams look every year from September to November. It's night/day all over the league. Players and coaches adjust. The whole year is a game of adjustments.

Our offense sucked vs Green Bay. If they do not suck, we are squarely in this fucking thing. It's THAT SIMPLE.

All hope is not lost when you have a unit as dominant as our defense. It just isn't.

Your guys D played well tonight. I've said all off-season that I think GB can win the SB this year. People doubting Rodgers and that team is not something I wanted going into the season.

We shall see going forward where each team goes and how much of that performance was due to our offense. Versus how much of it was due to your D.

Cheers... see you guys at Lambeau.

Week 1, 2018

Bucs (5-11) beat New Orleans (13-3 NFC South Champs) 48-40

Packers (6-9-1) beat Bears (NFC North Champs) 24-23

Carolina (7-9) beat Dallas (NFC East Champs) 16-8

Cincinnati (6-10) beat Indianapolis (AFC Wild Card) 34-23

Denver (6-10) beat Seattle (NFC Wild Card) 27-24

Other Notes: Jets post 48 in route on the road at Detroit and everyone slobs Darnold's knob like the Jets are going to be something.

Notable September Performances

Houston 0-3 (won AFC South at 11-5)
Indianapolis 1-3 (would start 1-5 before winning 9 of last 10 to earn WC berth)
Chargers 1-2 (Won 11 of last 13 to finish 12-4 and earn WC berth)
Patriots 1-2 *Would go onto win Super Bowl LIII*

Washington 2-1 (would start 5-2 before finishing 7-9)
Tampa Bay 2-1 (would finish 5-11)
Cincinnati 3-1 (would start 4-1 before finishing 6-10)

@Beengay fudgepackers

Everybody can calm the hell down and watch them play more than one game (on September 5th) before you turn your expectations on their heads. Cry babies.

I am glad this happened. Nagy was buying his own press clippings when he hasn't proven shit. The team walked around like they had done something. They needed a kick in the ass.

Time to see what we're made of over the next few weeks.

Funny how one game is easily put into perspective when it's mid-season. Like losing to Brock Osweiler... but since there was a bad performance week 1 and we built this day up for months in our heads. It must be 10x worse!

Difference between concerned and saying hope is lost. We lost a game... a week 1 game. It's September 5th. Big deal

Home game. Division rival. Prime time. A must win when you consider the other teams we face on the schedule.

Yeah...it was a big deal. And only half our team and coaches came to play.

We scored more than 3 points in every game last year, including the opener. We outplayed the packers in the opener last year. We looked like shit in the opener this year. We didn’t deserve shit in that game.I’m disappointed in this team. They fucking suck. We’re supposed to have an offensive guru as head coach who game planned for this game for several weeks and we scored 3 points. Have fun defending them though. I’m done excusing their shittiness. This is the year we should start moving on from Trubisky.

It was tough for Nagy to anticipate the Packers D being as good as it was. They installed the perfect newbs for Pettine's D. Plus you're a dumbass.

I don't see much of a reason to watch the rest of the season. This offense isn't a superbowl level offense, not even remotely close. Considering the expectations for this team and what the defense can to for us, it's incredibly disappointing. Trubisky is a bust.
