Is Carey Price the most over rated goalie in the last 10 years? I always hear people heaping accolades on this dude but I always ask myself, what has he done? A few good regular seasons, and almost always a disappearing act in the playoffs. Has never won shit so why all the hype? I mean he's decent but at what point does Montreal pull the plug and move on? Just looked at his contract and they are fucked with this dude for 5 more seasons at a good cap hit. Good luck with that shit.

Amen dude. I think about that every time he's brought up. His Montreal teams haven't been good. But Lundqvist did a lot more with medicore Ranger teams than Price has done with mediocre Montreal teams. Price is good, even great, but I don't think he should be praised as a generational goalie like everyone seems to do.

  • Im looking here if we pick 13th or 14th.

  • Center/left winger Mason McTavish (6-1, 207), Olten, Swiss League: He plays with an edge, has a shoot-first mentality, and has a booming shot. With no OHL games this year, McTavish headed to Switzerland and excelled, collecting nine goals in 13 games.

He caught my eye when I looked through too. I'd like that choice too.

  • Center Chaz Lucius (6-foot-1, 180 pounds) USNTDP in the USHL: The University of Minnesota recruit has a quick release and powerful shot, and he had 20 points, including 13 goals, in 13 games.

Love seeing the Pens get knocked out! Game of the night was Minny vs Vegas, Vegas outplayed them in every facet and still managed to lose and get shut out.

While I am all about collecting assets (ie draft picks and players) I recognize that there are several blocks in the path.
In order to make room for some of the young assets to be played in the appropriate role. SO, JvR, Jake, and to a lesser degree Patrick, why do we keep coming back to these three. Honestly, if the Flyers had a legit 2nd line center who could stand up long term (over the entire season) they could move Hayes down to the 3rd line where he would be a more natural slot. He would be less exposed.

On defense it is even more crucial that the right person to play with Provy is found. That allowed Sanheim & Myers to be protected in certain circumstances (not that they may still need that after a year of exposure). That would ensure that Braun would be the 3rd pair/PK anchor. He would not have to play 18 - 22 minutes and could be more efficiently spotted.

It is so frustrating that there are only one or two pieces that could completely remake the way this team performs. I think some of the kids we saw down the stretch could help ALOT. I think some...well, we just have to wait and see.

Can our old friend Cam Talbot carry Minny one more game in that series. That would be a huge upset.

A second line center and a top defenseman does help this team and puts us back in the playoffs but IMO it doesn't make us a Stanley cup favorite. It will be more of the same as we have seen and its time for us to win a title so i believe its time to blow it up. This way we can rebuild ASAP.
