Bill's hypothetical offer to Columbus for Jones is Konecny, Myers, and a 1st. And he mentions he would expect Columbus to counter with Sanheim instead of Myers.
There is a story on Yahoo and for some reason i cant copy and paste but the gist of it is the team that pays a huge price to get him then has to re-sign him and that contract will age horribly bad.

Any UFA contracts come with huge risk. I honestly can't think of any 'stars' who signed a UFA deal that played up to their contract. It's extremely difficult to build a good team through Free Agency because everyone gets overpaid. In my opinion, it should be used primarily to build your depth. Find those 2M-5M guys that are the perfect fit.

The Flyers are in a tough spot needing a top pair d-man. Most teams don't trade them. And free agents are expensive. But they have to do it, one way or the other.

We don't talk much about the backup goalie for next year. Any preferences?

I think everyone agrees it's gotta be more of a 1B type guy that can handle the workload for a while in case Hart struggles. Can't re-sign Elliot and have him break down after 2-3 consecutive starts.

Linus Ulmark from Buffalo is my choice. He may need to get at least 2.5 million though.

Depends on who you consider a 1b? But yea we def need a new back up.

How about Jaroslav Halák as a short term fix. Won't cost much and can play 30 plus games.

How about Montreal coming back from down 3-1 to advance.

OR - the mega choke by Toronto’s stars.
A pattern has emerged, too. In seven closeout games from 2018-21, Matthews has one goal and two assists, Marner has two assists, and Nylander has two goals and two assists. Sure, seven games isn't a large sample size - but there aren't that many elimination games in a player's career.

Shaping up for an Avs / Bolts final. Vasilevskiy playing lights out. Avs scoring at will. Hope it plays out this way.

Id take all three of them on our team in a heartbeat.

I like Ulmark. He's a solid reminder that is under the radar and is on a horrible team.

I predicted Avs vs Bruins in final. Rask is healthy and can steal games.

I like the Ullmark and Halak suggestions. Both would fit the bill IMO.

How is it shaping up to be an Avs /Bolts final? Have you forgotten about the Bruins and Vegas are still playing?
