Gordon and Huffman moving on from the Phantoms. So there will be coaching vacancies to fill this offseason. I'll be curious to see who they find to replace them. They seemed to have the Phantoms running pretty smoothly this year with a lot of roster juggling and young players.

Did it say where they were moving on too?

Restricted free agent Flyers/Phantoms winger David Kase has signed a two-year contract to return to play in his native Czech Republic for HC Sparta Prague. Flyers can retain his NHL rights via QO. Same situation possible with German Rubtsov.

Rubstov has disappointed. I expected him to be our third line center at some point in the next year or two.

No word on that. Sounds like they were in the last year of their deals and the Flyers didn't want to pre-emptively sign extensions with them. So, 'mutual parting of ways'.

Same. He seemed like he could've been a good bottom of the lineup guy. But couldn't ever get the consistency down.

True on Rubstov, he never impressed me. Wanted to see a little more of Kase.

It seems to me ive been seeing a lot more hockey being covered on ESPN these days. Do you guys think its because ESPN has signed on to cover hockey in the future or just because its playoffs and does this crerate more TV ratings for our beloved sports?

I think it's definitely because they have the rights starting next year. And they know the NHL playoffs are better than anything different sports can provide. So, perfect market opportunity!

Loved watching the Pens go down less than a minute into the second OT tonight on a silly play by Jarry where he tried to clear the puck right up the middle of the ice, gifting it to Bailey, who then beat him rather easily. Suddenly the division winners will be on the road facing elimination in round 1. Also, that Bruin team we couldn't beat for most of the season should probably be favored to make the Cup finals at this point.

You guys think it's difficult being a Flyers fan, imagine rooting for the Oilers!? They get swept tonight in triple OT after finishing 2nd in their division and haven't made it outside of round 2 since 2006 when they had some guy named Chris Pronger. That has to be one of the current most cursed franchises in all of sports, especially given the amount of young, high end talent that they do have.

One of the craziest stats I've ever seen in that game. Nurse played 15:32 of the first OT. He was only off the ice for 4:28. That's mind boggling.

Even though I hate the Isles too, I'd love to see a first round exit from the Pens.

Why do we only have one player representing our team in the world championships?

Because the Flyers are the worst team in history. Obviously!

Or it’s because nobody cares about the World Championships. Evidenced by it being during the NHL playoffs.

I guess Prov cares he's played 28 and 38 minutes in their first two games.

Why isnt Allison York Brink and Foerester playing and getting more experience?
