And I see no point in signing Alonzo. He does nothin but hit HRs. And that won’t happen with the Giants. His metrics actually say isn’t a very productive hitter at all.
This is a smart, low risk move. If he's recovered from TJ, he's a leverage reliever on a good contract to replace Taylor. If not, we cut him. No big deal.![]()
Giants Sign Lou Trivino To Minor League Deal
The Giants signed former A's and Yankees reliever Lou Trivino to a minor league deal and spring training invite. Read more at MLB Trade Rumors.www.mlbtraderumors.com
And, it helps the RiverCats' get a leg up on building that 30 man pitching staff. Hey, the way pitchers have done there the past few seasons, the RiverCats will need that many pitchers. This is a smart, low risk move. If he's recovered from TJ, he's a leverage reliever on a good contract to replace Taylor. If not, we cut him. No big deal.
But do it when you have time to shift through a lot of posts because jumping into the middle of it may be a bit confusing.OT…
there is an AMAZING discussion going on on the MLB main board listing the best players ever. It has been going on for about a month or so, and we are currently working on #14.
I would recommend heading over if you are interested in a non-Giants centric discussion of baseball history. It is VERY educational.
It is a running conversation that spans over about 30 100+ post threads….But do it when you have time to shift through a lot of posts because jumping into the middle of it may be a bit confusing.
I just keep thinking back to the video we got from Stade Olympique. That was some crap quality.Since the A’s are playing Major League Baseball games at Sutter Health Park, home of the SF Triple-A affiliate, does that mean we’ll get MLB-quality cameras for River Cats broadcasts? If so, that’s a pretty cool perk of this whole setup—strange as it is
Blast from the past...technology might have changed a little bit since...I just keep thinking back to the video we got from Stade Olympique. That was some crap quality.
Sure. But it was significantly worse than all the other parks.Blast from the past...technology might have changed a little bit since...
Agreed, but I'm guessing the Sac A'ss won't be as lame.Sure. But it was significantly worse than all the other parks.
Wonder if that is who Chapman was talking about wanting to play in the bay. With recent offseason history for the Giants, that’s the only way I could see the odds being that high.Per Bookies.com:

Why not both? They switch 1st base and DH. Just let it happen. If that happens, it doesn’t bode well for Eldridge. He is young, but there is already a lot of buzz around him going the DH route.
I like defensive flexibility. Having 2 roster spots of players who can only play 1B and DH (both better at DH) is not a good roster configuration. Even if those two players are our best bats. Why not both? They switch 1st base and DH. Just let it happen.
