One can only hope...Hopefully he will be as successful as Will Wilson.
I apologize for this post. Turns out that incessant negativity in the offseason rankles me.Prove that or STFU.

Personality conflict between him and BoMel. One that likely went back to their time in SD.In Taylor Rogers’ last 15 games with the Giants, he didn’t allow a run in 11 of them, and he had a 2.57 ERA. The Giants were 1-14 in those games. If you’re looking for an explanation for why the Giants paid half of Rogers’ salary to send him away to the Reds, there’s the easiest one. They didn’t trust him. By the end of his tenure with the team, he was still getting outs and preventing runs, but he was doing it in the fourth and fifth innings, usually with the Giants behind. He was put into games when all the Giants could do was keep the game close and hope their offense would save them, which … well, it was all they could do.
Major-league lefties who are still available for a fraction of the price the Giants were going to pay Rogers include Dylan Floro, Jalen Beeks and Andrew Chafin. If Rogers wasn’t going to be used in high-leverage situations, they might as well save some money and get another pitcher for the same role.Personality conflict between him and BoMel. Rogers’ numbers don’t support his doghouse status (that I see, at least).
But it is odd that not only were we not able to get a prospect in return, but we had to eat half his salary. No team wanted a solid lefty on a 1-year deal?Major-league lefties who are still available for a fraction of the price the Giants were going to pay Rogers include Dylan Floro, Jalen Beeks and Andrew Chafin. Yep some inside info is missing. I know nothing (as my mom would tell me).But it is odd that not only were we not able to get a prospect in return, but we had to eat half his salary. No team wanted a solid lefty on a 1-year deal?
this is one of those glimpses into “reality” that reminds me that I know nothing.
Reminds me of Tony Watson's lack of love in free agency despite getting the job done year after year. Sometimes, there just doesn't seem to be a rational explanation that is obvious and you have to assume that there is more that is not seen. But it is odd that not only were we not able to get a prospect in return, but we had to eat half his salary. Flaherty off the board. If Posey doesn't spend that money on another player then screw the cheap ownership. It's one thing to not be unlimited like the Dodgers or Mets, but if they won't even spend up to the CBT threshold when they clearly aren't tanking and can easily compete for a wild card, it's a bad look. The Giants' estimated CBT payroll for 2025 now stands at $215M following the Taylor Rogers trade, per Cot's. The CBT threshold is $241M this season, so they are $26M below that threshold for now.
Having room for mid-season or deadline trades is a nice asset to have. Flaherty was not going to be a game-breaker, no matter what. He doesn’t really address a team NEED.Flaherty off the board. I literally looked at him this AM considering him as an add. What you all think of Giants picking up Anthony Rizzo for one year? I’m hearing talk of the 4 time gold glover, to help in case Wade and Flores can’t handle it full time. They can alternate at DH. If we have to sign someone to help I prefer Rizzo over Alonso for multi years.

I don't know. He's been a below average hitter for the past two seasons. What you all think of Giants picking up Anthony Rizzo for one year?
