I wonder if this is Melvin or the front office thinking and making these little moves like Hopkins. It seems we are starting at the back end of our needs instead of pushing another interview with Tamamoto ![Noidea :noidea: :noidea:](/images/smilies2/noidea.gif)

Might be. Best revenge is win the World SeriesMust be the city.
Kinda hard to do that with a middling college roster.Might be. Best revenge is win the World Series
They better have put out the highest offer. If he chose another team because they had better infrastructure that’s fine, I get it. But if it’s another “we matched the best offer” bullshit, we need to get rid of the Farhan Zaidi stink ASAP. It’s apparent we are not a destination for A free agents.I cannot say that this is surprising but it is certainly disappointing. The big question, for me, is why are there 6 other teams not eliminated yet but the Giants are? Where they not willing to be the highest bidder? If that is the reason, then this FO needs to be fired yesterday. I am hoping that it comes out that all bids were in by the time the Giants were announced as eliminated, the Giants put in one of the highest (if not the highest) offer and were rejected simply because he wanted a perennial contender. There is nothing the Giants can do at this point on that.

We don’t know that yet, can only assume. We never hear about the giants placing the best offer, only tied for first. So apparently money is an object until we hear otherwise. He chose the Dodgers because they are better and Ohtani recruited him
The one time I'd hoped the Yankees snatched up someone for a lot of money and it didn't happen.![]()
Yoshinobu Yamamoto agrees to join Dodgers on record 12-year, $325 million deal

I don't wish ill on any man (or try not to), but I sorta kinda wish a whole bunch of IL time for Dodger players this season and beyond. The rich keep getting richer. I guess we have to figure out (like the Stros and the Rays) how to win another way.
Wonder how much of that $325 million is deferred?
