Sir Robin Of Camelot

You seem angry. Miserable, even.

I'm all over the lot when it comes to pick 26.
Can not overlook Bijan if he's there.
BUT...I would not kick & cuss if they took TE's Kincade or Washington.
I'd also be real happy with the Bama Safety, Brian Branch.
Might be the best outcome of this offseason activity... they can legitimately go after the BPA on their board with little guilt or regret.

Yes Sir.

All these years and I still smile with thoughts replenishing Dbackfield with talent.success in today's league requires it.

Except that once in a great blue moon (Tony G. 13th pick) We often hear the next big thing Vernon Davis comes to mind. & it never turns out that way. Kyle Pitts was a cant miss draft pick. While some of these TEs may turn out to be decent players. Not even close to using a top ten pick on them. Might get some mileage in the last 3rd of the 1st round. So needless to say. Me personally. I am against drafting TEs in the 1st round ever.

2021 4th pick Kyle Pitts Atl. (still early but to me not worth the spot)
2019 8th pick TJ Hockenson Det. (not worth it for the team that drafted him)
2019 20th pick Noah Fant Den. (not worth a 1st, but at least it was the 20th)
2018 25th pick Hayden Hurst Bal.
2017 19th pick OJ Howard TB (another hyped player...oops)
2017 23rd pick Evan Engram NYG
2017 29th pick David Njoku Cle
2014 10th pick Eric Ebron Det
2013 21st pick Tyler Eifert Cin
2010 21st pick Jermaine Gresham Cin
2009 20th pick Brandon Pettigrew Det
2008 30th pick Dustin Keller NYJ
2007 31st pick Greg Olsen Chi (well worth it but unfortunately for another team)
2006 6th pick Vernon Davis SF
2006 28th pick Marcedes Lewis Jax
2005 30th pick Heath Miller
2004 6th pick Kellen Winslow Jr. Cle (major hype ...oops)
2004 32nd pick Ben Watson NE
2003 24th pick Dallas Clark IND
2002 14th pick Jeremy Shockey NYG
2002 21st pick Daniel Graham NE
2002 28th pick Jerramy Stevens Sea
2001 32nd pick Todd Heap Bal
2000 14th pick Bubba Franks GB
2000 27th pick Anthony Becht NYJ

that is the 1st round picks of the 2000's All the hyped TEs have never lived up even close to the hype.
Some of these guys are actually decent players, but no way I use the top half of the 1st round to land a decent player.
Yeah I could stomach getting some of these guys in the last 3rd of the 1st round though. Never know. You could land your Greg Olsen.
But generally speaking. I would never draft a TE in the 1st round. But that's just me.
I remember when Aikman needed a TE and they drafted Lafluer in the 1st round .. bust. I feel the same way about burning 26 on a TE. If BPA sure. If not then hell no.

I see Robby Gould being available. Sure he is older, but just sign a good vet and be done with it.

at least at 26 if you ended up with a decent player. It isnt the end of the world that you used a 1st.
22 through 27 or so seems like a weak spot in the 1st rounds historically. So again landing a good player in that range is a bonus. Since unless a lineman we usually end up with felix jones of the draft in this shit area of the 1st round.

I don't think Robinson will be there. I think it would take a 3rd to move up and get him. RB shelf life makes that a tough deal to make but he might be special enough to do it. I also think the Gibbs kid will be a great RB early. There are a lot of day 2 kids who could be starter level, the Evans kid, Spears, and the TCU back.
My 1st round hope is moving round to Dalton Kincaid, who is a matchup problem at TE, or the IOL from Minnesota or TCU
Other than Oline, I go defense. Who drops and whose their best on board.

We are about to have a situation on that Oline, IMO. As much as I like skilled positions I don't care to go RB or TE in first at all. I don't see the talent need for it in our system at this time.

What I mean is, unless the is a Barkley type RB or Gonzales type TE we need to go elsewhere. We have pretty good talent at both positions. They are not weak links IMO.

I hear that.

Our absolute best ever and one of greatest TE to strap up was picked 3rd I believe.

I just think he wanted to stay in Seattle and was not blown away by any offers.

He's on my short list. I do think the 3 on my list will be gone before we pick.
well according this early mock draft. he goes 29th to the Saints.
So what I am seeing is there is a chance we go DT in the 1st round baby!
Image result for Evil Grin GIF

but they do have us taking a DT in the 2nd.

I figure most mocks will have us taking a WR or CB in the 1st. So unoriginal.

I am gonna be pissed if linebackers and DT are a weakness again this year. You banked on LVE and he must stay healthy.

I suspect he may still be there when we pick. Not sure I’d take him though because i think he will be pushed all over the field in the run game. But if McClay likes him I’d of course be good with it. Probably just a nickel player. But, if he can get to the QB…
