RB Ronald Jones signed for one yr. A USC ex RB last played with Bucs. Any comments on how he will benefit Dallas.
Good move. He applied pressure last year
There could be a starter sitting there at 26. Especially with all the QB needy teams.Man its really hard to bash the Cowboys for anything this offseason. They go into the draft with no glaring holes and BPA mode, which is where they are at their best
Played with KC last year. Probably a JAG but still very young so who knowsRB Ronald Jones signed for one yr. A USC ex RB last played with Bucs. Any comments on how he will benefit Dallas.
He's got a little juicePlayed with KC last year. Probably a JAG but still very young so who knows
That rumor has been dispelled the last couple of daysAfter signing with Houston for 1 year/$9M, it comes out that Schultz at one time had an offer of 3 years/$36M on the table from the Cowboys, which he rejected. In the words of Teddy KGB...Bad Judgement....
That article says the agent denied it...let me ask you Bro, if you were an agent that turned down 3/$36M and ended up a year later with a 1/$9 which is really less than $7M guaranteed, wouldn't you deny it lol? And think about it for a second...the yearly base on 3/$36 is less than the franchise money the Cowboys gave him last year, so if they paid him that, why wouldn't we believe they offered him multiple years at less money? That rumor has been dispelled the last couple of days
Do you really think Dallas offered 12M per over three years. That article says the agent denied it...let me ask you Bro, if you were an agent that turned down 3/$36M and ended up a year later with a 1/$9 which is really less than $7M guaranteed, wouldn't you deny it lol? Last year, maybe, but I doubt it was much more, if at all more, than the tag on an aav basis even last year. This year no way. From what you hear they didn't even offer him anything really. Who knows what happened but I have no reason to believe what the agent saying is wrong. The alternative is you believe a random internet rumor that isn't attributed to anyone. That article says the agent denied it...let me ask you Bro, if you were an agent that turned down 3/$36M and ended up a year later with a 1/$9 which is really less than $7M guaranteed, wouldn't you deny it lol? That could have been last years offer, but there were no reports Dallas offered him anything this year until after the fact. There's very little secrecy in the NFL, if Dallas had offered him a contract Jerry would have told us long ago. After signing with Houston for 1 year/$9M, it comes out that Schultz at one time had an offer of 3 years/$36M on the table from the Cowboys, which he rejected. I think they offered it last year before they tagged him, yes. I think that after seeing their two rookie TE's last season, they said "we're alright" this year lolDo you really think Dallas offered 12M per over three years.
Do you think the Philly safety took Detroit 1 year offer over the rumored multi deal Philly offer?
Me?
I think the league knows the future cap is going up and up.
One year deals are the flavor of this year.
Yes, the offer was last year. I don't even. Think they offered this yearThat could have been last years offer, but there were no reports Dallas offered him anything this year until after the fact. The Cooks deal looks as good as the Cooper deal looked bad, compensation wise. What's exciting to me, is for the first time in I can't remember how long, this team looks stronger BEFORE the draft than they did the year before. And they were pretty Damn good last seasonSo Cooks costs us $10M per year for 2 years. Other WRs making around that as per Spotrac:
21 Allen Robinson $15.5M - maybe the worst contract of the last few years
22. Sutton $15.2
23. Corey Davis $12.5
24. Gallup $11.5
25. C Samuel $11.5
26. Tim Patrick $11.3
27. Lazard $11
28. Jakobi Myers $11
29. R Gage $10
30. Valdes-Scantling $10
31. M Thomas $10
32. JuJu $8.5
33. Thielen $8.3
35. Zay Jones $8
The trade for Cooks vs signing a FA looks like a huge coup for this team. I suspect we could make a similar list showing how good a move Gilmore was
I want that Michigan kicker.I really think it would be smart to sign the best FA kicker on the market
When would you ensure to get him? What round would you pull that trigger?I want that Michigan kicker.
I know nothing about Jones. So far so good with this off-season.. the best one I have seen in a long time pre draft. Cooks and Gilmore are major upgrades over the guys that played last season. diggs,Gilmore and Bland all are good in coverage and of course all three make plays on the ball. The safeties are also very good with Wilson, Kearse and Hooker. If they can find that big disruptor in the middle this is a top 5 defense. This is the best secondary this team has had in forever.Played with KC last year. Probably a JAG but still very young so who knows
