Yeah, I would hope so. Give him 4 years of backup security with a more reasonable contract, if he's willing to swallow his pride and stick around. I don't see a starter position out there for him. Why go laterally to another backup, or be another placeholder for another rookie?A restructure could be on the agenda.
It might be hard to restructure him though given his remarks at season's end. He's clearly not happy with the role, and the money is likely the only thing keeping him interested in being here.Yeah, I would hope so. Also could be something to be said about Canada's offense being as inexperienced as it was. Maybe a year of growth might help Canada open things up. But I highly doubt that. He's as arrogant as they come.I definitely think keeping a vet QB that already knows our playbook is better than trying to sign a FA.
I do worry about Kenny's dome piece. 2 concussions within months. I know it sounds moronic given the nature of the sport, but hopefully the kid learns how to protect himself a little better.Eh. It is what it is. As long as they dont have to rely on Trubisky for extended periods of time, it should be okay
Yeah, he has to realize what he is. He's at best a journeyman hoping to luck into an injury or bust situation and hold on to a starting job for a season or two. And he's not going to be seen as a long-term starter anywhere. If he can recognize what his role is and be comfortable in it, that's best for him.It might be hard to restructure him though given his remarks at season's end. Agreed. I'm hoping it was just his pride talking after a sour ending to the season. Seeing him down in Florida with Kenny & all the receivers is encouraging.Yeah, he has to realize what he is. Him running for yardage is exciting, but I want to see him use his mobility to avoid hits and try to buy time to throw. If he never ran for a yard the rest of his career, I'd be happy.I do worry about Kenny's dome piece. 2 concussions within months. A beefed up OL would help immensely in that department
After a few seasons watching immobilized Ben it is refreshing to see any QB capable of moving out of the pocket. I don't mind him running, but he has that Ben or Elway mentality where he's willing to sacrifice himself for every blade of grass. It's the way football was meant to be played, but not good for someone that now has a history of concussions.Him running for yardage is exciting, but I want to see him use his mobility to avoid hits and try to buy time to throw. The worst of it is the small staff/coaching.Interesting... Here's a report from the NFLPA player survey about the Steelers facility.
but hey... at least they chose to spend a few thousand on upgrading the men's bathroom urinals.
Am I right in thinking that Acrisure would be responsible for upgrading the facilities? The Steelers/Rooney merely rent out the place, right? I thought that was how it worked. The worst of it is the small staff/coaching.
The stadium is getting old, so it's not going to rank that high compared to all the shiny new ones out there. But the consistent underspending on coaches and training staff is a problem.
It's simply a financial transaction.Am I right in thinking that Acrisure would be responsible for upgrading the facilities? The Steelers/Rooney merely rent out the place, right? I thought that was how it worked.
But yea the Steelers are notoriously frugal when it comes to staffing.
Here's your: "Fuck! I'm old." reminder for everyone who watched Dawson or earlier.
Back in the day... Pouncey was the Center....
Yeah that was kinda weird. So long ago......retired in 2020......
