Why do we need 5 rounds?

I may be wrong, but in years past, more darts were thrown on rookies and dropped/available veterans found new homes.

Maybe owners are being more cautious (or patient) this season?

Looked at 2024, and 11 players (out of 16) were drafted in round 5. Plus 5 more players were added after the draft.
