I'm so f*cking confused about all this Kendrick Green moving to FB hype... Like WTF are we even doin here?

If the most exciting thing about Friday Night Lights practice was Kendrick Green playing FB and laying out undrafted FA's... then I feel zero need to find some recap of that practice.

And somehow, what looked like a joke has now become more serious. He's taking actual reps during practices now. And still looking like dogshit in the process.

I am kinda excited to see KG reborn as a Fullback. If he can do it well.

Sounds cool until you see him whiff blocks time & time again. The dude has terrible change of direction skills, let alone gets lost in zone blocking. If they run it up the A or B gaps full tilt then yea he would likely blow up a LB or 2, but I'd be willing to bet he clogs the same hole in the process lol. But if they put him outside on a zone run then lord help us.

Najee is ok, but Dickerson or Humphries is what we NEEDED.

RB's in general are plug and play, especially if you have a good line in front of them.

So what was everyone's thoughts on the 1st preseason game? What stood out? What still worries you?

My thoughts...

Offense

• I'm not going to overreact to it given that Tomlin deliberately plays a vanilla playbook in the preseason. Once Matt Canada gets his mitts on it things could change. But there is no denying that the cupboards are loaded with talent.
• LOVE seeing Kenny's confidence this high going into the season. He's working his progressions more fluidly, manipulating the pocket, and looking off defenders instead of staring down his reads. This is drastic improvement from this time last year. We saw glimpses down the stretch but he looks like he has really put it all together.
• OL looks stout. Interior finally looks to be resolved. Didn't get to see a lot of 1st Rder Jones, but he looked pretty raw in pass-pro. But this is to be expected transitioning to the NFL. He can no longer rely on his athleticism & strength to win. We'll need to be patient with him. But I am happy to see Dan Moore put in a lot of work this offseason. Hopefully that equates to a better year for him. Can they please put a fork in this Kendrick Green experimentation? Got dominated by backups on the OL, and didn't get any work at FB. I'd rather see those reps go to someone else with more upside. KG just ain't it. I like what I've seen thus far from Spencer Anderson.
• Darnell Washington is that dude. Clearly is going to be used as a blocker primarily this year, but should still get plenty of RZ looks.

Defense

• Thankful for a revamped ILB group that is bringing the pain this year. Without it, the interior rush D would have been pretty damn putrid in this game given that Montravius Adams started at NT and was getting abused. Obviously would be different with the starters in there, but I still think Adams should move to DT and they need to stop forcing him to anchor. Fehoko & Benton should be better suited for that role. Benton looked like the animal we've been hearing about. Big things comin for him. Also looks like Loudermilk is answering the call. Going to be some tough cuts in this group.
• Steelers look like they found yet another gem on the edge with Nick Herbig. He may lack size, but dude is a relentless honey badger off the edge .
• Consider me concerned about the CB depth. Pierre may be having a strong camp, but his reps in games say otherwise. Hopefully we see more of JPJ in the next outing if he's healthy. I think Riley locks up the slot CB position with P2, Wallace & JPJ rotating outside. That's a strong top 4, but outside of that is concerning.
