I'd be beyond shocked. There are places that would value him and pay him more than here. Particularly Cleveland.

  • Cory Trice is still a hot name during "football in shorts" season. Kid could have gone as high as the 3rd Rd in the draft if it wasn't for injury concerns. 2 years since tearing up his knee for the 2nd time, and finally playing without a knee brace. He's looking good. Hope he can stay healthy.
  • Larry Ogunjobi looking very good in camp. "Youthful" seems to be a common adjective.
  • P2 giving high praise to CA3... "That Joker's FAST"

I'll admit that I had to read this to gather his points before I pounded the table, because the title alone pissed me off.

He makes some interesting points. It was ludicrous how Tomlin lied through his teeth trying to justify drafting KG when he checked virtually NONE of the boxes he mentioned that he did. But something that was overlooked by media circles was how inexperienced he was. Not sure how it wasn't a bigger deal at the time? He played 2-3 years at IOL in college after switching positions from DL. How this team thought he could be a day 1 starter in the NFL, at a position he didn't play much in college no less, is beyond me. And worth mentioning another prospect that was available at the time they drafted KG, Quinn Meinerez, who had a helluva lot more experience that they were supposedly looking for.

Also found it interesting how he mentions Pat Meyer's "mold" of a prototypical OLineman, which KG does not fit, and fails to mention how this team decided to keep KG over Joel Haeg. Haeg was a much more proven commodity, was somewhat reliable, and fit the Pat Meyer 'mold' so much better. The decision to keep KG over Haeg last offseason still irks me. Seems like this team just didn't want to admit that they made a very poor choice drafting KG.

But I still have a hard time pinning blame solely on the team. I feel like talent & coaching *should* prevail with players switching positions. These dudes should have the intangibles to do so. Green showed enough promise in college to make everyone feel like he could get the job done. Played well enough at Guard to be on the Day 2 radar, which is plenty enough ammo to justify the pick. It's the mental game that I think he struggles with the most. He just flat out looks lost most of the time on his assignments.

The blame should go both ways. Total misevaluation by the team, and KG showed none of the upside that he did in college.

Yep it is official with the signing of Kwiatkoski.

Additionally, the Steelers released wide receiver Anthony Miller.

Sorry every time I see that last name I only think of the god awful d-man the Penguins had for a little while (IE..he only played one game for them).

What his goal on offense is to make the punter look good. :L
I mean at least lie to us and say put points on the board… that could at least be interpreted as ST points only lol
