Whaaaaaaaat?
We'll have to wait to hear more about why this happened... Hopefully not another Maulet situation, but if so then fuck him. Dude was burnt toast last season. Plus it would have been very difficult for him to make an impact this season, and I'm guessing he didn't want to be relegated to a ST role like Pierre.

Is that the 3rd or 4th XFL pickup now?

CB Luq Barcoo
WR Hakeem Butler

Feels like I'm forgetting someone
I think there was another but I can’t find any other transactions.

Surprising. Not sure their plans to replace but i feel comfortable with their core going into this season vs last.
Well we could look at it this way... They saved $4M for a player that had a steep shot at making an impact this year and likely would have been a benchwarmer. Doesn't have to mean a move is coming or anything. Just simple business tactic to save money.

Spoon was an inconsistent player, which is the problem. And was the knock on him before the Steelers signed him.

He could play great, or he could play terrible.

Not surprised... It was wild to think they wanted to keep Mitch at the $8m cap figure as a backup. This should bring that down.

So they had roughly $11-12m in cap after cutting 'Spoon... Now they extend Mitch.

Should be sitting roughly around $17-18m in space now.

If they had lost Khan that year prior would have been a travesty to this team. The stuff he has done since taking over is just amazing.
Hope it pans out on the field.

We all probably had an inkling of this, but here is Khan pretty much telling us what they are making cap space for.

I am actually a bit surprised that they would be willing to sign another big-money OLB contract here. I do think Alex is worth what he's about to get.

Glad to see they are keeping their options open for edge depth after Dupree signed in ATL.

Not sure what happened with Crowder but his fall from starter to this is interesting.

Never thought all too much about Crowder. Practically a UDFA that turned in a few noteworthy performances enough to earn a starting role in NY on a depleted defense. Even then he struggled to earn more than a handful of gameday helmets IIRC.

Not sure what the plan is for RB3. But I know they haven't seen enough from Ant Mcfarland to feel like he could be an answer. Not that this position is of great concern outside of ST duties. Harris & Warren are a potent 1-2 punch, and either is fit for carrying the full workload if necessary.

Ndukwe... This marks the 2nd rookie mini-camp tryout that has made the roster. Other was RB Alfonzo Graham. Gotta love the small-school stories like these that are making impressions.
