I looked at Mac's across the board stats at ESPNo we sure got us another Dink and Dunk play maker
I don't think that's forever. He is still a bit timid about making mistakes.
When you start a rookie at QB, you get that or you get Lawrence and Wilson's interceptions.
He's driving on a learners permit with Josh's offense

It worked pretty good for 20 years. Bring on the haters again.

I like they are bringing him along slowly. Mistake free football as a rookie is huge. The kid has the right mindset. He doesn't need or want the glory.

I hope he at least learns to run for 1 or 2 yards, get down and stop with the spazzing at times.

FYI: Rookie QB stats after two games.

Mac isn't looking very good. Jordan Love beating him in yards per attempt. Zach Wilson beating him in yard per game. Trey Lance crushing him in QB rating and completion percentage. Lawrence is smoking him with 4 to 1 TD passes. He's got a long ways to go.

(pattern between this logic and the antivaxxer thread from a few days ago is purely coincidental)

Looks like BB is looking to make some changes or at least send a warning to the team that roster spots are not guaranteed.

The New England Patriots hosted a handful of free agents for workouts Tuesday, including quarterback Anthony Gordon.
Gordon was a prolific passer at Washington State, throwing for 5,579 yards and 48 touchdowns as a senior in 2019. He went undrafted in the 2020 NFL Draft and has spent time with the Seattle Seahawks and Kansas City Chiefs, though only during the offseason and preseason. The Chiefs waived him Aug. 23.
The Patriots currently have quarterbacks Mac Jones and Brian Hoyer on their 53-man roster, Garrett Gilbert on their practice squad and Jarrett Stidham on the physically unable to perform list. Stidham is eligible to return in Week 7.
Also taking free agent workouts with the Patriots on Tuesday were wide receivers Javon Wims and Jaylen Smith and defensive backs Kentrell Brice, Shakur Brown and Grant Haley.
Wims caught 28 passes on 56 targets for 266 yards and two touchdowns over three seasons with the Chicago Bears, with a career-best 18-186-1 line in 2019.
Brice appeared in 36 games for the Green Bay Packers but has not played a regular-season snap since 2018. Haley played 25 games for the New York Giants before making a one-game cameo with the New Orleans Saints last season.
Smith and Haley have yet to appear in regular-season NFL games.

Belichick doing his usual due diligence. No "warning" here.

Nick Wright Has Total Meltdown Over Tom Brady's Continued Dominance
To BB, performing in practice is every bit as important as performing in games. It could very well be that he's trying to upgrade the talent at the practices.

No surprise that the Patriots are dead last in the league in the Red Zone. 2 of 7 drives resulting in TD'S. If you include drives to the 25 yard line we are 2 of 10. Over half our points are from the team MVP Folk.
The WRs can't separate and BB doesn't want Mac throwing into crowds. He'll take the 3s until the bugs are worked out.
Josh has got to get Bourne out of his funk and get him moving across the back of the EZ.
BB has got to get Wilkerson off the PS and on the field. He was the most active WR in the preseason and might be the answer in the RZ.

They need to get those high priced TE's involved in the Red Zone. I don't mind Mac throwing into tight spaces. He's pretty damn accurate. Just get those big bodies on the field and give Mac a chance.

I hear ya but remember even the TB led Pats were notoriously slow out of the gates. The reason is they were still working on the team chemistry/coordination as may be the case for the 2021 MacPats...

The sample size is too small... and one of the games was the Jests (oops, meant yets).
Clearly I'm 100% sure you know the word fundamental so you must not be getting my context. My usage means "of central importance" since the pats are already behind in tie breaker logic we should consider them in third place instead of tied for first.
Sample size? Like in 2 games? Is that fundamentally important in the standings but not fundamentally important in the stats?

Well, yes. The stats don't count toward their record, but tie breakers just might. As I stated in my last response, there's a lot of football, but if the Pats lose a playoff spot or position by tie breaker then it does matter.

We need to shelve this discussion until late December.
