2021 Offseason/Season... Draft, FA & Staff

So lets take count here on how many "needs" the Steelers have right now...

1. OLB depth... Taco Charlton (4th team since drafted in '17), and Derek Tuszka... oh my

2. NT (Alualu & now Davis on IR)... guys like Buggs & Mondeaux are playing full-time. Fletcher Cox would be a big trade. If Tuitt comes back then I imagine Wormley slides inside. Out of position, but still a healthy upgrade over Buggs/Mondeaux.

3. OL... Haeg proved himself as a depth piece at OT, but if there is an upgrade for Chuks to be found then I'd go after it. IOL depth is JCH & Finney. Anyone in this OL depth is 'upgradeable'

4. WR... I know Washington can step up, but it still feels like there is more needed here to fortify the offense. A vet presence might be nice. Golden Tate? Ray-Ray hasn't shown us much but he may be on the cusp of breaking through (big play negated by hold against CLE). 11 snaps in the slot for Ray-Ray, and 34 snaps for Washington.

Not a fan of this... Nor am I fan of Ingram anymore. Dude straight up quit on this team. But at least they get something in return for a player that wanted out badly.

As Tomlin always says, "we want volunteers, not hostages"

Throw in Charlton, whom the Chiefs released earlier this month... And it sorta becomes a little more palatable.

I agree not really a fan and was wondering if they think Charlton can fill the same role?

They truly dug themselves into a huge hole if Highsmith or Watt are out.

If Ingram was unhappy with a diminished role, then maybe Eric Ebron gets dealt today? He went from practicing to out last week as well. Maybe he wants out?

I'd be much more on board with that. Bring up Rader off the PS.

I just don't get the reasoning for making the team weaker unless they truly think Charlton will actually show up?

Honestly looked more like it was headed towards the Steelers just outright cutting him today... Seeing how little they got in return.

Maybe KC leveraged that theory and the Steelers just took whatever was on the table.

Would love the move but yea that is an even steeper price to pay at this point. But I'd still be ok with giving up as high as a 4th for him. I'd take a proven commodity for a mid-Rd pick any day!

Yeah not sure but he did have one very good game this season.

Anyway anything is better than having Ray Ray out there in a 5 wide set. At least Jackson could command a little respect.

I'm thinking right now it has more to do with hurt & poorly conditioned... He started working out, but I don't think he ever officially got put on a practice report so his 21 day window hasn't opened yet. That "workout" was on a Friday (10/9?), and he wasn't seen on the practice field the following week and we haven't heard anything since other than Tomlin saying he's "progressing but nothing noteworthy".

My guess is he's rehabbing in the pool & doing cardio in the training complex.
