Really I don’t know but would be a Tomlin type move.
Really depends on what the FA market looks like, and what the Raiders want for him... 30 years old & 1 final year under contract... Sorta puts you in a tough position to bring him in & immediately turn around and try to extend him. At his current $20-25m per year salary, he would be looking to up that to $30-35m per year easily. Still not bad value, but its hard for a transition like this to occur in a final contract year, especially given the Raiders will want a big return. So in theory, Steelers would have to dedicate a chunk of cap & draft capital to achieve it.

I am totally on the fence as you stated. I never saw Carr as "good" but his numbers tell otherwise.Really depends on what the FA market looks like, and what the Raiders want for him... 30 years old & 1 final year under contract... But its an easy price to pay for a known commodity at the most important position in the NFL IMO.
Really difficult to judge Carr based on a career with the Raiders lol. I tend to think it was the Raiders' fault for failing to surround him with talent. But his value has to be high given his age. He still has at least 2 contracts worth of life on his career. So you could be looking at having him for 7-8 more years, whereas Wilson is 32yrs old and likely only has 5-6 more years, which is closer to 1 contract worth. Rodgers, you're looking at a 1 contract for 2-3 years type of deal loaded with guarantees.... Risky but still worth it to a team with that singular missing piece. Steelers would need to maintain that championship caliber defense in order for Rodgers to be "worth it" to them. With the secondary in transition (Haden, Edmunds, etc) and the DL looking to retool soon... It's hard to see this team maintaining a championship caliber defense without knowing what they will do next year with all their cap space... Could happen, but I'd hate to see them throw a bunch of money at Rodgers and fail to retool & plug holes on the OL & defense.I am totally on the fence as you stated. The amount of draft capital will hinge if a deal is done. I don't see him as the missing piece to winning a Super Bowl. Rodgers or Wilson on the other hand is a no-brainer even though the Wilson cap his is $40 million.
Let me also add with Russell Wilson I am amazed there are rumors at all, why would Seattle move him?
Prior to the year he had a round 5 grade. Thats why he came back. Projections have him as the hottest prospect, but its muddy where he fits right now. Ive seen so many weird comparisons. One i read recently say the arm talent of derek carr and the mobility of joe burrow lolWould Pickett realistically be in reach though? Before this season I think he was a 2nd-3rd Rd projection, but his current rate of ascension puts him top 10 easy. He would need to stumble a few times to put himself in the 15-18 range where a 8 to 9 win team would be. But I might be holding him on a higher pedestal than scouts/analysts.
But if Pickett is there then he is an easy pick for me. I have been blown away by him this season. Reminds me a lot of Herbert. Fantastic arm talent, great awareness, and plays well under pressure.
Preseason projections are typically trash. At Pickett's current pace there will be no way he's not at least a top 2 QB in this draft, which would likely be top 10. There is decent talent at the position, but none of it is as "clear" as years past. I think Malik Willis & Sam Howell are the only others with a 1st Rd grade... Rattler likely has been dropped out of it. Who else? Matt Corral? Tanner Mckee? The pool is too thin for Pickett not to be viewed as top 2 QB. Still a lot to unravel at this point but the sky is the limit for him if he continues to produce like he has.P

Kiper actually just moved him to#1 qb
Well prior to this year, this wasnt kenny pickett. This is what he came back to prove. Corrall still yeah and malik cunningham. His ascension is massive. LMAO... I love it. And honestly why wouldn't he?
Tomlin got heated and emotional at the question.
Who did it better?

I held a small, informal, candlelight vigil last night in his honorI see they finally released Jaylen Samuels from the practice squad.
And they signed this guy to the PS when they released SamuelsBut to be serious I would have preferred they released Snell.
Plus I haven’t seen the moves made official yet? I know they are trying to activate McFarland. But dropping someone off the PS doesn’t free up a roster spot on the 53 though? Someone will need to be waived.
Edit: just read an article sayin they moved DT Davis to IR. That’ll do it
