Win win for both sides. Steelers get a quality depth piece and (likely) starting slot CB for 2 years, and Sutton doesn't get tied down to a lengthy bargain deal. He will prove himself and then get a better deal in 2023.

If they can find a way to re-sign Hilton... I'm gonna be a very happy man. But sadly it would most likely require cutting Nelson or Haden, unless they restructure both?
Honestly that would be the best case scenario if they can resign Hilton.
I would not be averse to cutting Nelson, not that I don't like him but out of value right now Haden is better. Since neither will be here in 2 years anyway keep the healthier/more talented of the two.
If they could restructure both to resign Hilton that would be very shrewd on the front office to get that done.

He had a GREAT season and SHOULD have been paid his money. Yet another great decision by the front office.

Feiler goes to the Chargers. 3 years, 21MM

That's crazy money for that guy.
$7M per year for a utility lineman seems reasonable... A little high for how poorly he played last year, but his versatility is more valuable to some teams.

Figured Dupree would get that much. Glad it wasn't the Steelers paying it.

I'd really like Hilton back. I was visiting my mom over Christmas and forget who they were playing, but in that game in particular he just seemed to be all over the field in both coverage, rushing the QB, and stopping the run. I've seen some games in addition to that where he looked like one of the most solid guys on the field on the D, but I get the cap issues. I hope he makes it back but don't have high hopes.

They never had a chance at re-signing Dupree, @Yo Tee , especially this year with the cap problems, so I can't figure out why you're bitching about it other than to just be a contrarian.

Agreed. Took over 3 years to finally develop into something promising. And even then he needed a phenomenal supporting cast to breakout. Dupree is a rare blend of size & athleticism at that position, but he's not a physical player. Too many times did we see him try to flat out out-run the OTs off the edge only to take himself out of the play. Majority of his sack production came on stunt blitzes where his speed could really shine. But it was always more about scheme than him beating his opponent 1v1. That's something that the Titans will have to figure out.

I think he'll do ok over in TEN, but I don't think he's going to be the player they are paying him to be unless they have a good defensive coordinator. I'm sure they'll fall in love with him in camp lol. But their D-line just doesn't compete with PIT's right now, and Dupree will suffer from that.

Highsmith's play made Bud entirely expendable.

He isn't quite on Bud's level yet, but the replacement value there is off the charts.

Highsmith would be a first-round selection if they redrafted him this year.

All signs still pointing to the Steelers restocking the OL in the draft. Right now they have vacancies at C & LT. Finney shouldn't be viewed as a starter until proven otherwise, and JCH is nothing more than a backup.

And now that Feiler is outta the way they can let the reign of King Dotson finally begin at LG. We should all be VERY excited about that.

Looks like the Steelers are going to announce a deal for OT Zach Banner today...

I'm bitching because we lost this guy who was the 2nd best defensive player on our team this year due to a lack of talent in our front office to manage the cash flow well.

There are only two starting OLB's, and 3 starting quality players.

Even if they had the money, I'd let Bud walk. I'd probably let Watt walk before paying him 30 million a year or more, too.

I'm not about paying QB money to Edge rushers in today's NFL.
