Lol, Waddell (Carolina GM) apparently said "it's a surprise it wasn't more". So that tells you their plan haha

Meet your 2019-2019 Lehigh Valley Phantoms:

JF Berube - G - 700k AAV
Tyler Wotherspoon - 700k
Andy Welinski - 750k
Nate Prosser - 700k
Kurtis Gabriel - 700k
Andy Andreoff - 750k
Chris Bigras - Guessing 700k
Kyle Criscuolo - 700k

All signed today. I don't expect any of them will factor in to the Flyers next year (on-ice or on the cap), barring injury callups.

Andreoff will likely serve as a 13th/14th forward. Agree on the rest.

Yep. Agreed. And the compensation is only a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd.

They have to match it. It's almost silly that Montreal even tried IMO.

I think Car can still trade him to Mtl rather than match or decline to match. At least they’ll salvage assets if the up front cash outlay is too high.

Sounds like Fletch is done, barring someone coming to them on a move.

Good. I’d like to see the roster as constructed. Also leaves open a forward slot for someone to win in the fall. Might we see Frost or Farabee? Or will one of the older prospects like Rubtsov or Aube-Kubel make a push?

Damn. The Leafs got a solid deal in the Barie trade from the Avs. Imo the Leafs win this trade. Guess time will tell.

Wow just in, Avs trade Barrie and Kerfoot to Leafs for Kadri and Rosen, pretty crazy deal there. I guess with the emergence of Makar and their other youngster can't remember his name off hand lol

Avs look really solid to me. If Grubauer keeps it together, they could be a force out west.

If Grubauer can play a full season like he did the 2nd half last year I say the Av's play in the WCF, if they get secondary scoring oh my, they bolstered up a bit and added some very good pieces, however you never know how things will translate into a final product until you see in action. I'm pretty excited to see their on ice product.

I still think we could use some help for 3RW. Slim pickings left on the UFA market. Maybe they think Farabee can step up. He is 6-0 and play at 161 lbs. last year. Has already bulked up to 175, but probably need another 10 - 15 lbs. He will grow into his body as he is just 19, but he better start some serious eating at this point!
