F Brett Connolly (4 years, $13M)
F Joonas Donskoi (4 years, $15.6M)

Two guys I was hoping for. We probably could have afforded Connolly at that price.

That’s a terrible contract though. Basically a poor man’s Raffl, and they gave him 3.5M. FOR 6 YEARS.

He's not as bad as you think a real sparkplug fast gritty hits. Good on the pk but limited in scoring. Not sure anyone is worth FA money but he will help them.

Those guys are a dime a dozen though. Depth, role player, types. You don't spend 3.5M on those guys and you definitely don't commit 6 years to them. That's crazy.

IMO, that's easily the worst contract signed so far this offseason.

Really don't understand the JF Berube signing though. They have Lyon, Sandstrom, Ustimenko, and now Berube? They planning to put Sandstrom and Ustimenko in the ECHL? Seems like a pretty bad plan.

He also sucked in the AHL last year. So maybe he's an ECHL signing? Hopefully?

Does that 700K count against our cap this year

Anything under $1M, if sent to the minors, does not count against the cap at all. So all the guys they've signed today, do not count against the cap. Assuming they're in the minors, which is the assumption.

Meet your 2019-2019 Lehigh Valley Phantoms:

JF Berube - G - 700k AAV
Tyler Wotherspoon - 700k
Andy Welinski - 750k
Nate Prosser - 700k
Kurtis Gabriel - 700k
Andy Andreoff - 750k
Chris Bigras - Guessing 700k
Kyle Criscuolo - 700k

All signed today. I don't expect any of them will factor in to the Flyers next year (on-ice or on the cap), barring injury callups.

Don't get me wrong wrong it's not a great contract but either way tanev is a decent player.

Oh shit! We have an offer sheet!

Canadiens offer sheet Aho. 5 years x 8.4M. Looks like 21M in bonus money due in the first 12 months or so. Basically they're trying to do what Homer tried on the Weber offer sheet. Can a big market team bully a small market team out of a player?

(I expect Carolina to match, that's a pretty reasonable deal for Aho honestly)

Aho is a stud if Carolina doesn't match that would be dumb.

Yep. Agreed. And the compensation is only a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd.

They have to match it. It's almost silly that Montreal even tried IMO.
