I feel like I'm still asleep and this is all a nightmare.

As proud as I am of this team and what we accomplished to date, to end it all with such a demoralizing loss is beyond frustrating.

Yes, the Islanders played well, but they did that for a lot of the series.

We did not show up for this one...at all.

16 shots on goal for an entire game...Lol

They dug too big of a hole hard to come back. I'm proud that they took them to seven this experience will pay back in Hart's.....

Yeah, but Hart wasn't even bad. We completely hung him out to dry. Every chance they scored on was a glorious opportunity where we left a man wide open. It's just unacceptable.

I'm truly disgusted. We're way better than that. It's as if someone paid us off to tank the game.

Perhaps we just didn't have any energy. I don't know of another excuse. You would think in a game 7 that there would be plenty of adrenaline to carry you through.

I actually did a play on words instead of spades I inserted Hart's haha! He's going to be great like I said wasn't his fault when D don't take the pass on two on one's. Turnovers also didn't help but they'll learn from this.

I agree that the future is still extremely bright for our whole franchise, but what a way to fucking let us all down after battling back to force a game 7!?!

I mean, fuck me!! :gaah::mad2::noidea:

I forgot to mention the PP also didn't help. Not one goal in seven games how is that possible? If therien runs this should be fired. I stand by this.

Disappointing end. I’m still not happy that the energy and effort wasn’t there for a game 7 but hockey is back in Philadelphia. Hextall did a great job stock piling talent. I’m ready for a guy like Frost to take the next step and Lindblom and Patrick to come back healthy and ready to go. And for the first time in decades the goaltending position isn’t a black hole. Let’s go Flyers!

Pretty much my feelings as well. Still love the make up and depth of the team. Let’s see what Fletcher has in store for us this off season

I’d be most in favor of trying to fix within and save some cap for the 20-21 trade deadline to fill in what they think they need at that time.

Tough game to watch.
Just a gut punch.

Don't know if they were tired.
We had the opportunity to match lines, but maybe this was just a bad matchup?
But, that doesn't bode well for next year if the Isles make it right back.
I don't want to say we were outcoached, because I believe AV can be that guy, terrible challenges aside.

The Kevin Hayes signing was a big win.
We have our goalie.
Youth on defense.
Youth on offense.

We can upgrade at some spots, but for me, the key offseason move has to be getting rid of Therien and fixing the power play.

Philadelphia Flyers - CapFriendly - NHL Salary Caps
Thompson and Grant are UFA and should be gone.
Patrick and Frosty could fill those two spots.

Pitlick will be an UFA. Made $1M this past season.
Not sure if another team will offer him a multi-year deal.
Otherwise, would definitely bring him back at that price.

NAK is a RFA.

Braun is an UFA, he gone.
Myers and Hagg are RFA.

Elliott is an UFA.

Should have $9M to spend.
Some of that will go to our RFAs, at least one defensemen, and a backup goalie.
If they have enough youth (Morin? Ghost?) to fill out the defense, maybe spend a lot of that money on an offensive playmaker????

I agree with your assessment, I think we def need to fill a hole at defense with another solid vet. Someone with some size but can play to, not just an enforcer. I think you package Ghost and maybe something else and try to land someone big. I think then we are set. Like you said this team is stacked every where else.

I think they definitely need front line offensive play makers. But I’d like to first see them grow that guy from within. There are a ton of candidates.

That was a bit rough to watch. Obviously our boys blew their loads in games 5 and 6 because they were a step behind in the 1st, 2 steps in the 2nd and a few by the end. I still love this squad though. A couple of tweaks and they're going to be scary good.

If I'm Management....gone are JVR, Grant and as I'm no longer interested in watching (as Las would say) cement skates JvR in O&B. With Frost, Patrick and a fully conditioned Oskar coming back next season it may be time to pat Jake on the back and send him to pack his shit as well.

Maybe the Kragen take one of Gee, Jake or JVR off the Flyers hands. If not then dangle them for trade and see what they bring back. Bigger contracts are gonna be hard to deal though with financial uncertainty from Covid.

What does the free agent market look like? An intriguing name for me is Taylor Hall. He has been on bad hockey teams the last two years but two years ago had 93 points. If they can get the Kragen to take one high salary guy (G Jake JVR) it may work with money left over to fill the Braun exit. As has been suggested here before, maybe use Ghost as a trade piece to the Kragen to entice them taking one of the three big salaries.

So we have a bad Buffalo team coming in tomorrow. This is a game where we had better be ready to play. Buffalo is a total disaster and their coach Ralph Krueger probably will be fired any day now. Again, we should absolutely destroy this team, but I'm actually nervous that we are in a middle of a bad losing streak hete.
