Just imagine how good our defense will be after a couple offseasons of strength training, a few long playoff runs and some maturing/coaching. Maybe add one more piece via trade or free agency and it will be one of the best defenses in the Nhl for years to come.

Either way it goes for me, I'm excited for our future, what these guys did this season and the fact we actually got to see Oskar play in these playoffs. We def should have some new found confidence going into this game, I hope Varley is playing.

I think that’s pretty consistent with what many of us have said about the guy. He’s not a scrub. But those years are when Giroux was the guy on the team. That has to be taken into consideration when looking at his legacy. Let’s hope he tells me to go eff myself tonight with his play.

That said, I expect him to bring it because I think he's a clutch, elite player that is nothing short of ultra competitive.

Of course G isn't elite anymore but it doesn't mean that he can't contribute. This is probably one of the better teams around him since the last cup run. The rest were pretty average hard for a guy to dominate during those years. Either way he isn't bad enough to release but moving forward I can see him taking a far lessor role towards the end of his contract. There is still a place for guys like this most cup winning teams have them for a reason.
