So i thought Duchene was going to get 10mil per year??? Thats why we HAD to pay Hayes

:lol:
I think Duchene picked where he wanted to go. I would say Nashville is a top tier team so I can see him wanting to be there.

Dont get me started on this again :mad2:. We over paid and gave too many years. Hayes isn't good enough to demand both. We screwed this one up by going all out too early.
Kind of like the Parise at 50 yrs 11 mil or some shit, pretty sure Suters contract in Minny is close to the same.

What are your thoughts in regard the Avs trading Barrie?
Well with the addition of Makar who can move the puck just as well if not better, and is a faster skater we'll be ok. Also the Av's defense has gotten a lot bigger, best 2 skaters and offensive dmen are the only ones under 6' and 200lbs. Kadri adds a lot of strength to their line up also. I've already said if Gruebauer can play to the same level I can see the Av's in the WCF's.

Agreed I bet Philly would have had to pay over 10 M to get him and he may have still went to Nash. Apparently he's a country fan...Philly was most likely never an option and they knew it. Hayes was the only one left. Perhaps he turns into the next Primeau I'd be ok with that.

Laughton filed for arbitration. This shouldn't damage the cap too much. Does he deserve a big raise?

I was thinking the first way would to be get hurt, have to void the rest of the contract and we get somebody else? Ah to dream..
:pound::pound::pound::pound:

If only. The big problem with this IMO is we gave him both the years and the money. Also by signing him so early we lost out on Duchene who is only making 1 million more than him for the same amount of years.

Well all we can do is hope and pray he is at least worth half of that contract when he hits the ice. I guess I can stay open minded until I see what he does. He should be the quickest to absorb Vignaults coaching philosophy having been there before.

I don't know if he deserves a huge raise, but he did have a good season last year and has been pretty steady with his development IMO over the last couple years.
