He is a decent back up on a veteran minimum deal, who cares? Signing people to that amount of money is required if the Lions are going to get a deal done with Suh

I'd be pretty happy to add Langford. He's the kind of quality role player who can eat up some snaps and help a good defense stay a good defense. He wouldn't make us better, imo, but he's definitely a starting-quality DT who isn't a liability in the least. If the dollars are right he'd make a good replacement for CJ Mosley...

Man o Man. I sure as hell hope the Front Office can stop having such large amounts of dead $$$ from here on out. The majority this year is on Suh but even the dead $$$ in Houston and Bush :L .. Pitiful, absolutely pitiful. not trying to continuously :deadhorse: buttttttt.... you could get two pretty damn good players with Suh's, Houston's and Bush's dead $$$ of 17,193,383.00. There will always be some dead money at issue.

the team has $109.6 million tied up in the active roster. Another $17.4 million is tied up in dead money, paid to previously released players, including Bush. Also included in that total is the $9.7 million carryover from Suh's rookie deal, which will be there whether he re-signs with Detroit or not.

Freese at 44k? He would have signed for the minimum with no bonus.

Oh no you didn't! Did you just suggest that LewanDUI isn't a god among men and the savior of this franchise? You can only blame yourself when LWM responds with a post that has absolutely nothing at all to do with what you said but instead tells you about how his uncle helped to repair his broken down Ford Pinto.

Your wrong again... Big Blue probably has enough command sense to know that with Suh not signing a Contract extension a couple of years ago which could've prevented the restructuring and the mess now. Nope, no way am I putting it all on Lewand, I'm going to save some of the blame for Suh when he hits the road and bails on the Lions fan base while were stuck with the Wonder Twins.

I don't recall which one of the Wonder Twins said Stafford is going to have a big year in 2015. But this would work out prefect because the Lions don't Showcase the Offense and Defense in the same year. I just hope it's not Deja Vu with Mike Martz Offense trying to outscore Joe Berry Defense in Rod Marinelli's Tampa2 scenario.

:L This is EXACTLY what I mean when I say you make no sense whatsoever and more often than not I, and likely most others on here, don't know what in the hell you are talking about. Suh wasn't offered an extension a couple years ago? LewAAnd is the money man so the buck stops with him and that is where the blame (and potential praise) falls. HE made the decision to restructure both times on Suh's contract.

And your second paragraph is even more baffling. Honestly, what are you actually trying to say?

I seriously question whether or not you even know what my position is on all of this because not one single response you have ever posted addresses my comments and makes any sense. I'm sorry but they just seem to be random nonsensical thoughts.

Suck it Paulus. isn't there another garbage cast off from another team out there for you to want to bring to Detroit who can resurrect an already nothing career and become a huge contributor with the Lions? Why don't you talk about that?

You must mean like George Johnson, or Rashean Mathis... they were considered garbage "cast-offs" when we signed them. Mathis was rated the #12 CB in the league last year.

But not bringing in free agents for a look is a way smarter strategy. You old fucking windbag...

Two hits and 80 misses on your record there Millen Jr.

Let's see how the two you mentioned are without Suh.

What other teams trash you want to bring in? You are aware BTW that you can't just invite these players to camp? They have agents who negotiate contracts and get $ to be there right? Your bring in every piece of shit player not on a roster then throw them into the toilet and keep the floaters costs $.

I think your reading skills are slipping with old age. I never suggested signing all of these guys, but brining them in for a visit costs nothing against the cap. If some or any have a good workout and the contract works out for what the team is looking for, then welcome aboard. If not, then no harm done.

This wouldn't be necessary to explain if you knew what the fuck you were talking about, even once in a while...

Oh yeah, bring everyone in for a visit and have them run around for a few minutes and then maybe offer them a contract. What a brilliant strategy!!! Let's call it trash day at Allen Park. Maybe we can get it to coincide with their actually garbage pick up and the Lions can really take out the trash.

We would be the oldest fucking team in the league if you were in charge and NEVER develop any young talent. If you took off those coke bottle thick Honolulu blue glasses long enough to make an actual evaluation of anything that wasn't tainted by the fact that you are a homer fucking douchebag you might actually make a post worthy of reading about what the Lions should consider doing in free agency.

Done on this topic with you.

Tell you what- I have a good test for you that should help solve all this nonsense.

I'll PM you a picture of your ass, and then another picture of a hole in the ground, and you see if you can tell me which is which...

Skip the PM and instead make a poll thread and put a picture of you with them. Then let people vote on which one they think is the most intelligent? I'm supremely confident you will finish third.

Yeah, but all that shit will roll off the books next off-season. That is why I would rather they not go after mediocre players such as Knighton and Langford. Just draft some DL and let Cauran Reid play, see what you got in him.

Next off-season you are flush with cash and have a ton of young players with starting experience. Also, you have another draft and cash. The Packers are so solid because they draft players and develop them. You bring in Terrence Knighton. Reid never sees the field and will be cut or expendable next off-season. Another wasted draft pick.

Not really "flush with cash" though considering we're going to need to lock up Levy, Reiff, Warford, Ziggy, and Slay all soon.

Knighton is one of the better DTs in the league right now. He's a lot better than mediocre, imo.

I don't agree with the logic on Reid never seeing the field and therefore being a wasted pick. He's a rotational guy right now- maybe he gets good enough to someday start, but he wasn't drafted last year with the idea that he'd be starting within a few seasons...
