read on MLB trade rumors that the Rangers may non-tender Mitch Moreland
I remember reading/hearing something about Ogando & Moreland being non-tender candidates...
Wouldn't surprise me about Ogando. But it does about MM.
No surprise there. Maybe they're out of money for anyone else.Bad news for the Rangers, gotta keep dealing with this guy for years in the division.
The Mariners and third baseman Kyle Seager have reached an agreement on a seven-year extension worth approximately $100 million, CBSSports.com Baseball Insider Jon Heyman reports. The deal will include an eighth-year option, per the report.
Seager, 23, posted career highs in home runs (25), RBI (96), batting average (.268), slugging percentage (.454) and OPS (.788) in 2014. He has a .262/.328/.429 slash through his first four seasons in the majors.

Rangers released Adduci so he can pursue an opportunity in Asia.
The Rangers have signed infielder Ed Lucas to a Minor League contract with an invitation to Spring Training.
The Rangers originally claimed Lucas off waivers from the Marlins on Oct. 10, but he elected to become a free agent after being outrighted to Triple-A Round Rock. Lucas played in 69 games for the Marlins last season and hit .251 with one home run and nine RBIs.
Lucas, a right-handed hitter, has a career .255 batting average over 163 Major League games with the Marlins the past two seasons, including a .330 (59-for-179) figure against left-handed pitchers.
He's not worth that.

Seager is 27 not 23
disagree, he's been worth between 16-30 million the last 3 years, and will likely maintain that going forward
The AAV is around 14 million per year, he could easily keep that going forward
$14M/year for 7 years for a Gold Glove 5.5 WAR player. Sandoval put up 3.0 WAR and the Red Sox are paying him that much for only 5 years.
Though I think almost very baseball contract anymore is an overpay, just because contracts have gotten so astronomical
