Lattest. Confused myself, Murph. Wasn't much of a bid. Wonder how serious the Rangers were.

@Evan_P_Grant: Nobody has won anything until Korean team decided whether or not to accept RT @ronniebrooks83: @Evan_P_Grant did Rangers win a bid on him?

The Padres recently won the bidding for another KBO pitcher, Kwang-hyun Kim, for $2MM, although the top bid for Yang was expected to cost more.

Rangers seemed to win this one by default as it appears other teams didn't post what he was supposed to fetch either. If he was really supposed to cost more than Kim that is

Do we really believe he's a #3? Lol

I would wonder that myself. Heard he had a 4.25 ERA in the Korean League. I know it is suppose to be an offensive minded league but how do those hitters compare to MLB hitters.

Yeah. I wouldn't feel safe with him as there #3. #5 pitcher would be perfect. Someone like Latos would fit the bill.

What I read is that 4.25 is well above average (in a good way) for that league, which means average pitchers have even higher ERAs. Not sure what the reason is though (Small stadiums, poor defense, etc...)

Right and from what I also read he received the equivalent of the Cy Young in the Korean league.

I heard Boston still intends to resign Lester too.

i think the Rangers are talking to Atlanta about Upton and Alviton
What about Medlen? He has I think two more arb years, and coming off his 2nd TJ surgery. there has been talk of the Braves non-tendering him because of his cost and 2nd major surgery, so perhaps they would sweeten an upton deal with Kris.
