Kings had their chances early. Letting Pickard make the saves on the 2 on 0 and 2 on 1. Trading chances, and just not putting it in. Kuemper also just hasn't made any big saves.

Would kill for a PP and a successful one late in this period. Only good news, Oilers up 5-2 and that was somehow a Kings 4 on 2 leading to the Spence goal.

The Kings just don't have the horses. Even if the Kings move on (doubtful) I can't see how they can get through some of the other teams left.

Well. Glimmer of hope on the Spence goal. Kings incapable of anything other than going up the boards with the puck to a waiting Oiler player. D to D passes up the boards. 2nd guy misses it because it's bouncing, or humming. Oiler player just waiting for it.

I'm actually dumbfounded at this constant infatuation with sending the puck up the boards to the other team. They do it almost every single time in their own zone, and they do it a ton when attacking too. Just thoughtless, lazy, up the boards. And then the forwards let the Edmonton defense jump in front of them to keep it in. No one goes to the puck.

Kinda bad for the most important PP of the season

Uninspired PP when it matters. I'd actually like to see them double shift the 5 forwards like EDM does with McDavid and Draisaitl. Kings don't do much first 45 seconds, and Kuzmenko et al just change it up. Kings outnumbered at the boards on the PP is just heart stuff to me. Edmonton wants it more. Kings lack those killers who just hate to lose.

My daughter is 4, and she's sitting next to me up late. I'm like, this is legitimately just the same situation 4 years in a row, with me sitting in my garage watching the Kings lose to Edmonton in Round 1. At least 4 years ago it was my boy Quick standing on his head in Game 7. Kings losing that one 2-0 with Durzi getting manhandled behind the net by McDavid.

Well, maybe next year Kopitar and DD8 wont look older and slower and the aging Kuemper will get the Vezina and the Arrival will happen
