Superior? Competitive is more like it to me.

Depends on the definition....

They'll be "competitive" with what they have this year. (IE - contending for a wildcard spot...as long as everyone is healthy).

"Superior", IMO, would mean competing for a pennant. And I would believe that to be the case (as long as it all goes to plan)(which, when does it ever go to plan)

that's the way i look at it.

also Rangers are looking at another injury pitcher Brandon Beachy who missed all of 2014 after TJ surgery

Daniels likes young talent Rangers have in system | texasrangers.com

"The best players on the field in 2015 are going to be our own guys that are either coming back or continuing to develop," Daniels said. "That's been our mindset. We weren't looking to turn over the roster. After we lost 90-plus games last year, maybe some people would think that we should turn it over, but that's not the approach we took. We believe in these guys."

Rangers to promote from within in left field, but seeking veteran complement; A couple names to watch for | Dallas Morning News

The possibilities include a pair of veterans with Boston: Allen Craig and Daniel Nava.
Craig, 30, is coming off a terrible season that the Red Sox believe was caused by a left-foot injury. With St. Louis in 2012-13, Craig had 35 homers and 189 RBIs. Craig, a right-handed hitter hitter, is due $26.5 million over the next three seasons.
Nava, 31, hit .270 with four homers, 37 RBIs and a .706 OPS in 363 at-bats. Nava, arbitration-eligible for the first time, is more appealing because he is a switch-hitter.

If SD ownership was ever serious in spending money they could probably always be pretty good since SD would be a highly desirable place to play and live all year round.
