Yes, I have talked about it with several folks before and no one can ever find documentation. They couldn't even do so in the early part of this year. It doesn't exist.

Wrong. We have produced At least one link that JD did re-engage in talks with nelly and another figure was submitted, which he turned down in favor of Baltimore.

Maybe this is a clue. We discussed back and forth why Cruz chose Baltimore bc he thought he would get more playing time. So we must have offered more than the QO other wise that discussion would not occurred.

That makes way too much sense.

What gave you the idea that I am clamoring for him to make a move at the present? My focus in on 2017 with the chance that 2016 might be special. I don't want rent a players and I never wanted to overpay either in prospects or dollars for guys like Miley, or Masterson.

You are aware that Darvish could be gone in 2017 right? And you do know he'll be a FA after 17 regardless right?

IMO, we need to look at 2016 as a year for us to be contenders, but all of this is so dependent on what we see in the upcoming season from so many of the guys who have ?? around them, for whatever reason.

2015 is going to be maybe the most interesting seasons ever for us. Hopefully interesting = entertaining and productive.

That's no joke. ''Giving him a chance to earn a spot in the rotation'' is a long way from #3. If he's the Rangers 3rd best starter, they are in a major bind

Not necessarily, he's been pretty good as a starter, he's just had some injury issues and the Nationals were stacked in the rotation last year, do I think he's a #3 now? No, but he has the talent

Is Neal Cotts & Scott Baker still available? Also, what's the status of Corey Knebel?

His numbers look decent and he projects fairly decent with a 3.84 career era I believe.

Previously, Detwiler had established himself as a fairly solid starter: he carried a 3.46 ERA over 301 2/3 frames from 2011-13, most of it working from the rotation. But the Nats shifted him to the pen given the team’s stacked rotation and the possibility that his stuff would play up in that role. Realistically, he did not have much of a place on this year’s Nationals roster with several lefties and starting depth pieces in place.

Dude isn't chopped liver by any means, definitely better than Hanson and Saunders options last year

Sounds like his and Colby's ERA should be similar in 2015.

Rangers working to sign reliever Kyuji Fujikawa. Deal is pending a physical as he had elbow surgery this past season

maybe this is the right handed reliever they were talking about

The Rangers have agreed to a deal with free agent reliever Kyuji Fujikawa, T.R. Sullivan of MLB.com reports on Twitter. Fujikawa gets a one year deal that includes a club option, Jeff Wilson of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram tweets.

Fujikawa, a 34-year-old righty, came to the United States by way of the Cubs. He has thrown only 25 innings over the past two seasons, with two stints sandwiched around a Tommy John procedure and rehab. Though he carries only a 5.04 ERA at the big league level, Fujikawa has shown he can miss major league bats. He has averaged 11.2 K/9 and 2.9 BB/9.

Chicago declined a $5.5MM option over Fujikawa at the start of the offseason. Fujikawa was an ace reliever in Japan, where he accumulated a 1.77 ERA over 12 seasons while posting 11.9 K/9 against 2.7 BB/9.

He may not have the same upside as Holland but aside from his BP time his overall ERA and a couple of his years as a starter are similar to Derek's. He is close to the same age and Derek had the 16 win year in 2011 but other than that the sheer numbers are similar. It will be interesting to see what he can deliver on given the opportunity

Yeah I noticed that too, looks like some swing and miss stuff
Jeff Wilson@JeffWilson_FWST [ame=""]2h2 hours ago[/ame] #Rangers' deal with Kyuji Fujikawa, pals with Yu Darvish, is for one year plus an option. Fujikawa had Tommy John in 2013, returned in 2014.

Wonder if pals with Yu had anything to do with it?

They might be good for each other.
