They have been said to be in but they were cutting payroll to be able to sign scherzer and I'm not sure how high they are willing to go either

Did I miss something? Did Wash or JD say that? How the hell can you say that before ST when you are still trying to land FA's?

You must have forgotten the year when RW stated that Ben Broussard was our 1st basemen when ST opened thinking that he would excel knowing the job was his without ever earning it. I was livid when that happened and he stunk it up so bad when the season started that eventually he dumped.

I've seen comments where someone all but said it, and that is the overriding thought around here... I can see that stance when you're talking about Moreland but when you're still trying to land a FA bat it's foolishness

It's Kemp, Justin. Like it or not. May have been his hand all along.

I've been saying that. I brought up the Dodgers as a team to keep our eye on around a month ago. I just had a feeling that we might end trading with them. We all know JD is willing to take a risk. I think JD would rather have Braun, Stanton, or CarGo just like all of us, but the teams just wouldn't budge. Of course these are all just my personal opinion. Who knows...he could pull another rabbit out of his hat or sit on his hands. I know I will no longer be a JD fan if we go into this next year with this current team. He has a 3-4 year window here to get it done.

I loathe the idea of Kemp, when he's playing he's a good ball player but he's off the field more than on it and you would be taking a huge risk taking him on and giving up a package of big league chew

Napoli took less money to stay in Boston. I hope the big offer he turned down wasn't Texas. If so, then I will sour on him quickly.

and now we have to trade away players for Kemp or Either, if that's even the plan...and watch that get snagged, because they can want more than we are willing to offer....we don't have even have 3 OF's...unless you count the Rook.
