did I say that scotty?
I am speaking about Profar and playing every day at 2nd base.
Please tell me how that compares to your question.

well , let's see you talked about moving Kinsler to an unfamiliar position and by doing so limiting the moves the Rangers can make.

we need a LF'er and that's not Kinsler.

we need a 1st Baseman and that's not Kinsler or Moreland

we need a DH and that's not solved by a rotation of Kinsler, Andrus, Beltre & Profar.

i would hate to see Profar go but if he and a package brings in a SP or 1Bman it is something that needs to done

He might have a few all-star seasons, but MVP seasons? That seems a like a stretch. Who knows though. That's why I love the game.
IMO he doesn't have the power or run production to be an MVP.

He's 20, nobody knows where he'll end up or what he'll end up being

This I disagree with on principle not b/c of the names, no reason DH can't be a rotating position to regularly get guys a half day off and other guys on the field, as long as the guys playing DH can hit, it shouldn't matter who is there

you are possibly correct on this but Profar has not proven to me that he can hit to the point where this rotation would work efficiently. we need a real DH

So the Royals were a big trade last year. Is there any possibility the Rangers might be able to move Kinsler and some other pieces to Kansas City for a Butler and Hosmer combo? I am spit balling ,and haven't really considered it, but it's good for possible discussion.

don't think Kansas City would even consider it

Not a chance in hell they trade Hosmer. If anything, they would trade for Starting pitching, not hitters. Then again, Moore is an idiot when it comes to trades so he will give you guys far more than the value the Rangers give most likely if a trade does occur.

That's pretty much why I brought it up. Texas could give them a starter and Kinsler easier if they thought they could get offense back.

Fair enough, but as the other poster alluded to, I suspect Hosmer is untouchable unless the Rangers gave up something so outrageous that it would be impossible for Moore-- and Glass-- to refuse. I am not so sure the Rangers are the best trade partners for a fair trade that makes sense to the Royals ( In Moore's mind) as well as the Rangers.

still don't think it happens but why would we give a starter for anyone when most sites seem to think we're looking to add a starter or res-sign Garza?

i've even heard some talk about Profar, Jackson + a low-level bat for David Price

I have no clue why he gave up Wil Myers. He should have been more untouchable than Hosmer.

Zero point in using prospects for more pitching. We've done that the last two years and what has it netted us? They need offense.

Once again, I never said that particular arrangement of players

McCann, Beltre, Cruz and Napoli would be examples of players I'd like to see sharing the DH position next year without actually going out and getting a guy to be THE DH

now i like that combination but that would leave no real playing time for Profar. at most a couple of games a week.

McCann would require a Soto or other catcher.

Cruz would be covered by Gentry

Napoli would be covered probably by Moreland

I live in the Midwest and I've been saying to my fellow Ranger posters for awhile, that fans in KC cannot stand Moore. (or the FO decisions in general) It's my perception that your farm system actually cranks out some very good players and then trade them away.
I certainly could be wrong, but it's interesting because my friends and I were just talking about it last Spring.

I don't like it because I really think KC is a (or could be again) a great baseball city.
Hope things get turned around, Royals certainly looked better this year.

Congrats on the Chiefs.

and I agree about Hosmer...
