Just for grins, Profar goes to SS and Elvis slides over to 3rd when Beltre gives it up.

Not too great because EA's offense would not project well at third, moving him to third would be a travesty of talent wasted

I hope he does too, and I hope I'm proven wrong about him. I'm not as big on him as most. I like the trade. The pressure will be on, some kids can handle it, some can't.
One thing to remember, people should not be quick to compare him to Kinsler the 1st year. He may stump his toe a couple of times and that is to be expected and on the other hand he may come out smoking. He just needs a fair chance in his first year and I hope he gets all the support he needs to succeed.

Now that you set me straight, could the same be said for Profar at 2nd?

He's not projected to ever have Kinsler's power or baserunning ability.

He'll never be Kinsler. Better defensively, yes.

are we wasting his talent at 2nd? Yes, (assuming he becomes a better hitter than EA) but in JD's defense....it's fine for now

I don't think profar will steal 30 bases. I really don't know what his base stealing potential is. I don't think he's slow, it just seemed he never got good jumps.

I wouldn't expect you to say anything else.
I'm banking on he'll be a much better all around player than Ian.

I mean...since we're all throwing out opinions here

that could certainly improve, but I was a little surprised he wasn't faster, if he learns how to read the ball of the bat well, (hard thing to teach) he could augment his ability. He's do dang young, hard to tell

No, he won't be...not at second, it's not going to happen. It's not knocking Profar, they are two different type players
