It's early so it's hard to tell right now. But next year I expect him to be a role player maybe a star in the future

If starting at 2nd base is a role so be it. I don't view it this way at all.

He was ranked the # 1 prospect in baseball for almost 2 years, he's 20 and is a natural SS with some decent pop. His role is star IMO or if you're correct, trade him right now why his value is inflated.

Dave Schoenfield:
Choo isn't without power -- 16 home runs with Cleveland in 2012, 21 with Cincinnati -- and would bring an impact bat to the top of the Texas order. Rangers leadoff hitters (primarily Kinsler) were OK in 2013, ranking fourth in the AL in OBP and sixth in OPS, but were just 11th in runs scored. Some of that was because the No. 2 hitters (primarily Andrus) were among the league's worst, ranking 12th in OBP and 14th in slugging percentage. Studies have shown that the No. 2 position in the lineup is actually the spot where you should put your best hitter. Andrus' lack of power makes him a poor choice to bat second.

Very good info....thanks for allowing me to ponder on other options.

I'm looking at 2015 maybe 16 as him growing into a star

the same was said about all young stars getting started in this game.
What is it about my opinion of Profar that you find so disturbing? Why do you think last season defines what Profar will be?

elite defensively, hits for decent/high average, hopefully a 13-18 HR guy type power

I don't what the projections are for his stealing ability, someone else could comment on those scouting reports

Well maybe a choo+ willingham or Michael morse would be nice

No. No to both of those guys. Napoli and choo may be a good option with Napoli as the primary dh. He'd offer Beltre some protection and can give fielder days off in the field.

LF Choo
SS Andrus
1b Fielder
3b Beltre
DH Napoli
RF Rios
C Soto
2b Profar
CF Martin

Yep, that would do nicely.

As I said during the season he could be a Ben Zobrist type production not 20 homers thouyh

I don't need to read a scouting report. Profar did not show any ability to be a threat on the bases. He doesn't have great speed.

I don't think 15-20 homers a year is out of the question for profar.

On MLB Network they're reporting that the Yankees have made their final offer to Cano. They said it's significant, and it has an expiration date.

I have high hopes for Profar but he's not a star till he is. A little way to go yet.

That's true....which was why I said I expect. Maybe it's an outlandish statement, maybe not.
Lainey says elite defensively, hits for decent/high average, hopefully a 13-18 HR guy type power.
I'm thinking elite defense, 300 plus average with 18-23 dingers...at 21, that's a star to me.

should be fun

I'm gonna say profar will do 280-15-70-100-10 with very good defense I see him doing this in 2015

I think eventually profar should hit 2nd when he turns into a very good player
