Except that McCann plays a premium position in catcher and we only have one spot available in the outfield. Neither choo nor granderson are guys you want patrolling center field every day.
Who do want in LF?

So say JD somehow works out a deal for Price w Moreland + something, then our option behind Fielder would be McGuiness? Looks like we would need to find another option as backup? Why again did we let Baker go only to keep Rosales as the only utility guy. Rosales spelling guys in the infield even a couple days is not something I'm all that excited about if we are challenged w scoring runs again this season

I doubt that deal with Moreland is real. Sounds crazy to me.

Yeah to me as well, which is why I added the +something as it will likely require another significant piece to make that happen

so we go into the season with a 6 thru 9 like that and pray that one or more of Soto, Moreland, Profar and Martin has an improved 2014 season. we went this route last season and we stunk up the park with our failure to get RISP's across the plate. and we can't lay it on the shoulders of 1 thru 5 to do all of it. we have NO thump with those 4 at the bottom of the order.
The Rangers were 11th in the AL in runs scored from their No. 1 and No. 2 hitters

Good point and illustrates the need to up grade that lower order.

There's nothing on any of the ESPN sites regarding this "potential" trade.

As with most things spit-balled here - its just based on user scenarios.. Not media driven.

So you wont find anything about it. (other than Tampa maybe being interested in Moreland....and Tampa looking to trade Price)

here is the story

I read this and figured then and now there's not much too it. Just a writer throwing out fodder.

Hey, everyone gets to play FO & GM this time of year.

Murph in his intro to the Indians let it be known how grateful and blessed his time was with the Rangers. Always have liked his class and attitude.

Anybody hear the Prince Fielder press conference? Pretty weird yet great at the same time. He sounds very chill and disinterested but it just looks like that's his personality. He's not the typical athlete that says the same things over and over in front of the camera.

He is a great guy. His presence with the team will be missed.

the comedy continues

timely hitting remains correct
Timely hitting will always be correct if you have appropriate people to do it.1 and 2 hitters can't Drive in RISP if the lower isn't getting on. That's the point.
