What? Where is this money coming from lol. Hell, lets make the lineup Ellsbury, EA, Cano, Beltre, Beltran, McCann, Cruz, Mitch, and Rios. I hate being debbie downers, but that's just not realistic (and that's coming from the guy pleading for wacha)

It's 2 FA's, and the St. Louis trade. It's very possible.

Craig is 5yr/31mill starting in 2013, Miller is less than $490,000 and is not eligible for arbitration until 2016. Then there is McCann and Beltran or Cruz but not both. We have the money for that.

i still think we have the money to make it happen. we spent around 150M last year and there's nothing that convinces me we couldn't easily handle 130-140M

Cruz wasn't in my line-up.

Mine either. I just threw him in there based on another post. But it was an or so we were still in agreement on 2FA and 1 trade. I'm sold on it.

Yeah I know you didn't. Terp argued without reading. I didn't have Cruz in there, so like we said....it's 2 FA's, also the trade

I met JD once at Hibachi97 in Arlington. I knew I should have gotten his #. I could've gotten him this info on our desired team next year. :laugh3:

we were at $125 mil, pretty decent size difference. Ive read they want to stay around the same payroll.

you have to include any dead money owed by the team as part of the payroll and we had over 20M in dead money going out last year. all of that has cleared now

According to a report in the Dallas MN last summer when all the Arod being suspended for life talk was going on it was stated that the Rangers still owed him 40 million that could possibly grow to 50 by the time it gets paid off. It was further stated that they would still be on the hook for that amount even if he was banned for life. I'm not sure if this is included in payroll, but it's still a chunk of change that has to be paid by the team. I wonder what effect, if any, that this has on payroll going forward?

125 million has been what I've seen and that included the 10 million we paid Young to go away

That said we should have about 40 million to spend next year

I like it. I have Kinsler 1st because I am not sure RW will have it any other way to start the year. But it is all good.

Kinsler is still a good lead off hitter. Good obp, doesn't k much, and sees lots of pitches. Also, still an excellent base runner.

A few months ago there were an awful lot of guys posting that Cruz wouldn't get more than a 1 to 2 year deal. I honestly felt then some team, perhaps several would go up to 3, and so posted. Now it seems there may be an opportunity for him to get 4 easy.

Power bats are needed guys by most teams really. But I still think if the Rangers get aggressive, give him 3 years @ $40+ mil, with a decent option for year 4, he'll be ours.

Is that too high to y'all?
