He probably would have received more than one vote if our offense had not let him down. How many 1 run games did he lose?

I forgot that. But that was at the end of may-early june. He had a bunch of starts before that and still struggled. Not really a cop out to me

I know that was bothering him around 3 weeks before he finally went on the DL.

I don't think so. For one thing he can't stay healthy. For another, we need COF with consistent 25-30 home run power.

Yeah, and right now more than anything we need a #3 hitter. I think Beltran fits that bill more than anyone else available. McCann would fit in nicely after Beltre.

The market for a 3 hole isn't good though, besides cano. Its just one of those offseasons where, barring any surprising trade, I doubt we'll find a 3 hole where someone will say "that's exactly who we needed."

The Red Sox offered Salty a 2 year deal that may have been less than 10M per year. I hope he takes it. That's one less team to worry about in the McCann sweepstakes.

Me too wasting. He not only could have been a 17 game winner and should have with minimum help from his offense. Oh well, crying in our beer won't help him either.

How about Elvis, Beltran, Beltre, McCann, Rios? That's a good mix of speed and power.

That would be good and then you add in Martin/Gentry in the lineup with their speed. You put that together it would be a nice balance. Plus with Beltran being a switch hitter that is also a nice advantage. Can you imagine if we added Miller to complete our rotation and Craig to complete the lineup along with Kinsler and Soto. Could rotate Beltran and Craig in the OF/DH and McCann/Craig 1B/DH. That is 2 free agents and a trade. That is doable.
