i'm hearing that one trade idea now is Elvis for Miller and Craig

I like the Miller part and one thing about Craig he has played all 3 OF positions along with 1B and has a short career average of over 300. I am not completely against the idea.

If I read one more rumor involving Nellie going to the Mariners, I'm going to throw up.

that is all

Nothin' but smoke. Nellie can't want to go to there.

I would not object too much to this trade, I also like Craig's contract he's fairly affordable up through 2018.

Even though he had at least 600 ABs the last 2 years and can still hit I worry about the fact that he is 36. Plus he primarily plays RF but could DH with us. But somebody is going to have to play LF. This is a tough call because he did help the Cardinals in his 2 years there.

I've had enough of older players as Berkman. Let the Yanks have him. Next year we would be looking again. Try to sign Cruz and a left fielder.

You've hit the nail on the head here. I'm with ya.

My friend up in St Louis south told me someone from the Cards was interviewed (didn't say who, or what the format was) and he was talking about how St Louis tries to look at good club house guys, off the field behavior, along with the baseball player. And he said something to the effect, "this is what makes the 2 guys in Texas attractive to us. Profar has terrific upside, very affordable and terrific person. The same can be said for Andrus, except he's already proven at the major league level what he can do."

He said they also love Tulo; hate his contract though. No great surprise there.

I hope so

They have enough to sign Napoli too...

:L

If we get competitive with Cruz, he'll stay here - I think. He loves it here and the team loves him.

Everything I've read has said Nap is going back to Boston, if at all possible. This was a magical season for him and I certainly don't blame him.

Why would the Tigers trade for Andrus when they already have Iglesias?

There have been reports out there that the tigers have been out shopping for a shortstop and profar/andrus would be a perfect fit.

Running the clock backwards; wouldn't it have been great to have kept Clint Hurdle as our manager?

Pirates fans aren't exactly thrilled with him. At the very least I wish he was around as hitting instructor. He did help Josh win MVP by fixing that swing.

Their SS came in 2nd in for rookie-of-the-year. What plan do they have for him if they want another SS?

Why is this? Seriously, I don't have a clue why anyone from Pitt who could complain about what he's accomplished there and in a short period of time too.

Tell me what's the rub here?

They talked about moving andrus or iglesias to second. I would assume andrus because iglesias has got too much range. But in saying that, I imagine they probably would rather have profar because he's cheaper and is a more prototypical second baseman
