I am not willing to go all in with either guy. I would love to see Ellsbury on the club and a platoon for left field. I call Martin "platoonys" for a reason.

I wouldn't want any part of Ellsbury and his injury history, his contract will be the definition of throwing money down the drain, especially since he's on the wrong side of 30 and his game dictated by his legs, see Michael Bourn last year

I can agree on the not willing to go all in with either guy. But aren't you concerned on how much Ellsbury will cost with Boras getting his greedy little hands into the picture. What is the projected years/salary that has been thrown around on him?

Other than a trade the OF options are Jacoby, Beltran, Cruz, Corey Hart, and who else?

Choo and out of those I am okay with the contract that Cruz would get compared to Ellsbury or Choo will demand.

Don't have to worry about Maddux going to the Cubs as they hired Renteria.

I agree, I would be more willing to give Cruz a 3 year/$39 mil contract than to sign Choo or Ellsbury at the contracts they will command. Choo is solid but not worth what he will get paid and Ells is Crawford part 2

Agreed, rather give Cruz a short term contract, I'm not too worried about him signing elsewhere

#Rangers agree to terms with LHP Martin Perez on a four-year contract through 2017, with club options in 2018, 2019 and 2020.

Great news on Perez, but there's less money we can spend on actually adding players. TR Sullivan has me very worried. He said JD is only going to spend round 17 million. I hoe somebody is wrong. I would be very disappointed in the organization.

I am not worrying about it either way. They will do what they do at this point. 2011 was their year and they didn't make it happen. I don't know if they will get another chance like the Mavs had. It sucks, but every other fan base is allowed to be happy but the ones I love. Well except Cleveland and Seattle. Who cares about those places anyway.

I love how everyone is willing to go all in with Martin after 1 full season of 500 plate appearances but is skeptical about Gentry after 3 seasons of consistent numbers and 700+ plate appearances

you misread what i'm saying. if we had the middle-of-the-order big bats to back up Beltre i would have no problem with Gentry in LF but we don't. right now we Kinsler, Andrus, Rios & Beltre and then a big drop off down to Moreland, Soto, Gentry & Martin. we need at least two thumpers batting 5th & 6th behind Beltre or we might not even get beyond 3rd in the West. Cruz would answer part of that but hopefully we can add one more bat. unfortunately if we do that leaves Profar out and possibly drops Gentry into the 4th OF'er spot unless they replace Moreland at 1st

Thanks Rev. Good work in getting things done with him early while the price is not as high. Just hope it all works out great.

Excellent.

Yes sir. Didn't know of this til I jumped on this board. So we pretty much have control of him til 2020 if things go well but he may have some performance clauses in there where he can opt out something similar Darvish has I am guessing.
