If they're already making that decision is there an acquisition on the horizon for a starting pitcher?

I'm sad it doesn't count but it still makes me smile. Freaking loving Kinsler and nelly's approach at the plate.

Lowe looks good. He may snag the #5 spot. His stuff looks better than Feldman's actually.

Yep. Was weird like he just hit a wall. His stamina and arm strength is is lacking, but his stuff looked good for 3 innings.

With no more starts than he will get with the Rangers, sending Tepesch to AA or AAA is probably the best move. Bringing him up for a start probably isn't etched in stone this early in the season anyhow. The only thing that concerns me is having the same thing happen to him that happened to Neil Rameriz when they jumped him from A to AAA. Not sure if the move caused him to fizzle, but he sure fell off the radar screen in a hurry.
Ross had his chance and didn't get it done. His control has been a problem since the second half of last year and if the higher ups think he's better suited for now in the BP then I guess they think he has a good enough head on his shoulders to handle it.
JMO, but getting consistent pitching from the 3 and 4 rotation spots may be a bigger concern for now.

He pitched pretty well in AAA until he got hurt and hasn't had it since

Not surprised he hit one... He was pitching for the 2nd time in 2 or 3 days...so I'll give him a little slack with his performance after the 3rd inning. (especially since he isnt stretched out like the other "starters" at this stage).

Leonys's walk off double was nice. :yahoo:

I think its going to be a great season fella's.

when i just heard the news that ross is out as the number 5....it makes me mad...i feel the rangers arent trying to put the best team on the field

so we are going to have a billion lefties in the pen or does what ortiz/robertson have done this spring not carry any weight

i guess we will see how it goes but i am not happy with the approach we seem to be taking.....i would rather put ogando in the pen as one of our better righties than ross and all the lefties in the pen

the perfect set-up to me is harry,yu,holland, ogando, ross(porcello)

would rather ross go to triple a and start than fuck around in the pen with a billion other lefties

it also confirms my beliefs that lowe is the number 5...even after the rangers said he wasnt in the running.......if lowe wasnt in consideration they wouldnt be throwing him out there this often trying to get his arm ready

Some sort of shoulder issue, but from what I just read he threw well in ST and the Rangers are still pretty high on him.

Even though it was a ST game I still had the feeling that these two teams don't particularly like each other and enjoy beating up on one another.
I agree, it's going to be an interesting and fun season.

The kid appears to have some serious talent. Thank God it was a meaningless game or Wash would have pitch hit with a RH bat.
