But that is exactly what Wash did to Borbon in 2009 when he came up from AAA. He had Borbon DHing over half the time. Was more productive in the spot than was Hank Blalock (remember him?)
I platoon Olt with Moreland and given him one 3b start and one DH start a week.
Simple as that.
Exactly this. Olt is here to stay. Him getting everyday playing time at AAA is not an option so therefore has no business being discussed in the "what is the best way to use Mike Olt?" discussion. WMW hit the nail on the head. Give Olt a few starts a week at 1B and a start or two at DH. Maybe even the very occasional start at 3B with Beltre at DH. The point is, if Wash weren't so obtuse and hell-bent on playing MY every last game, there would be plenty of opportunities for Olt both on the field and at bat.
