I wouldn't say dumpster fire after 4 preseason games. Thats a little much.
Exactly way too early I can't see them being worse than last year that's for sure. They are far better in a lot of areas especially goaltending and overall depth now.

Is Voracek lucky, super human or .... I just don't know....
After hearing Jake once again get slammed I paid a lot of attention to him against the Rangers. Yes, he takes shifts off. I think we all know that at this point. He is also capable of outworking most people on the ice at any given time...that is what is so frustrating. But what is even more mind boggling, how is it that he was able to get 3 points in a game that he was only about half engaged?

Is he THAT good? I don't think so...

What do you think?

This is what totally p!sses me off. Champions do not take shifts off. I have this complaint against Voracek and Giroux. Yeah, I know, Giroux is one of the best players in hockey yadda yadda.... but when he is out there figure skating for 2 periods, then decides to play ice hockey he IS one of the best. Voracek is bonafide 1st / 2nd line guy WHEN he is playing. What is MOST infuriating is that this is all mental.....

I've said it before ---- maybe only in my mind since I'm new to posting... give me the second rate talent that plays every minute before the super stars that take time off. I feel better paying for a ticket watching guys play their a$$es versus the "STARS" that don't give it all every shift.

I hate Crosby with a burning passion - but the guys plays every shift like it's his last.... That's a champion

TWARZYNSKI !!!!!!!!

His goal was awesome. I don't think he's got much of a shot to make the team out of camp, but I would be totally comfortable with him as an injury call up.

Probably the biggest Giroux defender out there, but I do think this is legitimate criticism of him. However, I'd still take him over a 2nd rate talent that never takes a shift off. Even giving the 75-80% effort that he does, he's been the Flyers best player for a decade. They've definitely had guys that give more every night, but he's out produced every one of them. You're never going to win a cup without guys that can produce like that, regardless of their effort.

Obviously you'd rather have supreme talents with the 100% effort every night, but I can only think of 2 guys in that category right now, and they're two of the best players in NHL history (Crosby, OV).

Voracek, same story.

My hope with those guys is that when the games truly matter, they bring it. Giroux is a point/game player in the playoffs and has carried the team late in the season to the playoffs on more than one occasion. The jury is still out on Voracek. The Flyers just need the depth to help get them there. And this year, I think they have it.

After a hectic couple of weeks, I should be able to watch 2/3s of the game tonight and all of the game on Thursday. Excited about that.

Roster looks kinda boring tonight, I mostly want to see Farabee and Frost! I haven't seen much of Hayes yet though, so that'll be fun.

25 James van Riemsdyk - 14 Sean Couturier - 11 Travis Konecny
82 Connor Bunnaman - 13 Kevin Hayes - 23 Oskar Lindblom
81 Carsen Twarynski - 21 Scott Laughton - 44 Chris Stewart
10 Andy Andreoff - 50 German Rubtsov - 62 Nicolas Aube-Kubel

53 Shayne Gostisbehere - 61 Justin Braun
6 Travis Sanheim - 5 Phil Myers
55 Sam Morin - 59 Mark Friedman

37 Brian Elliott (sounds like the plan is for him to go 60)
[79 Carter Hart]

I think its preseason and when we didn't look so good in the first 4 its easy to start looking to criticize. He will be fine in regular season as a vet i think he should be allowed to not go full out in preseason

I think these guys have been doing this for years which is why our team has been called out many of times for not playing a full 60 minutes.

We need to carry the momentum of last game into this one. It would be nice to get off to a good start for a change.

TK looks like he never missed a beat and Prov looked better than he did last season so far

Farabee looks a lot better than Frost just wanted to throw that out there. From what i have seen so far Frost hasn't impressed me. I was expecting more from what i have been reading and hearing on this board.
Its only a coupe of games so i will give him a break.

I think one of the most exciting things about the roster this year is that there's a good chance the opening night lineup contains zero players that I look at and go "that guy sucks, but at least he won't play a lot".

Hopefully that won't change after game one lol.
