He missed one game his Rookie year with a broken finger and then tore his ACL during the 2013 season late in the year. Otherwise no injuries. So pretty much 4 of the 5 years he has played every game possible.

Now onto the whole best OLB part of this. All-Pro means they are only voting in the top-2 players at the position. So far 4 of the 5 years Von Miller has been voted in among that group of 2. The one year he missed was the year he missed half the season. So while it is my opinion it is also the opinion of the All-Pro voters, PFF, and just about every analytical site out there.

Also last year was not even his best season as a Bronco. I would argue 2012 was his best year when he had 18.5 sacks for the season, 6 Forced Fumbles, his highest tackle total of his career and so on. So even though this last year was great I think it would be hard to argue that it was actually his best regular season. Now playoffs yeah when you add that into the equation then yes this past year was his best year but any year you win the Super Bowl and you are a big reason why then it should be considered your best year.

So then, by your analysis then, Joe Flacco never missing a game until his 8th yr, playing in 3 AFCCG's and winning a SB MVP, and having a far more complex job than an OLB, is well worth the 120mil he got, correct ?
If not then you have exposed yourself as a double minded giddy homer that can't see past his home team...
What a shocker !!!!

I have to give it to you, you're extremely creative with your leaps of logic. That's no small feat.

I don't like the way top tier player contracts work. I hope more stars start requiring the whole thing guaranteed, even if it's at fewer years. Would make it a lot easier to compare values and would make NFL contracts much easier to understand for casuals.

In some ways I agree with you.

In the case of Miller...a 3 yr/$65mil all guaranteed deal is obviously much easier to understand and compare, but as it is now, the G$ is what the agents are looking at and the teams need those extra yrs to make deals work with the hard cap.

Double minded? No I don't think Flacco has earned his money or should have been paid that much. We are talking about a player that by most isn't even thought of as a top-10 player at his position compared to a guy who is considered by many the best player at his position. Yes QB is far more valuable of a position but also handing out a huge chunk of change to an average QB has shown to be disastrous for most teams in the NFL. I mean we keep seeing those teams finish between 6-10 and 9-7 almost every single season because that one giant contract has completely destroyed them cap wise to build a good enough team depth wise to really be competitive. To me your top paid player should be a top player at their position not some average player who is only being paid such huge sums of money because they play the QB position.

All those accomplishments other than the health side of things happened before he got his contract not after. If he had accomplished all that after getting paid yeah he would be worth it but the team has been a below average team ever since that contract came on the books.

Just a quick heads up on some developing things of this whole issue. The Broncos did have their ring ceremony on Sunday evening and both Elway and Miller were there. They actually went off to the side and had a conversation and both walked away looking very cordial and that the conversation had gone well. Von Miller also talked very much in the present tense about how he can't wait to get back to work with the Broncos.

So as much as people want to make everything sound like Elway and Miller hate each other and how Miller is planning to sit out a year I just don't see that happening or that that relationship has been so damaged that it can't be fixed. Elway loves Von and Von loves the Broncos. It will get done.

It's actually only common reasoning, just too ingenious for the slow like you....
And again, you but in on a conversation between me and your hero and don't understand where it came from...

You know what, you have proven to me that you are the worst kind of homer, a stupid one....
Double minded is too kind, more like delusional....
You'd pay 114 mil for an OLB who has been injured far more than you claim, but not the most coveted franchise position in football, an MVP QB....From now on, you are on my clowns list and not taken seriously at all...
Save your short novel response because it means absolutely nothing to me, all drivel....

pot meet kettle? At least I don't think an average QB is some kind of incredible player that should be paid the most ever in league history. AT least my guy in the eyes of those around the league think he is at least top-2 for his position instead of riding off just one great 4-game stretch that has completely crippled a franchise ever since they paid him the money.

I'm guessing he is one of those that takes those online IQ tests and when it shows he has a high IQ goes around claiming genius status.

Wow yeah what a burn. Attack my mom to show how much smarter you are than me. Yup that always works. Every intelligent conversation or intelligent person attacks a person's mom to win an argument.

If the Ravens' defense hadn't twice given up 14 point leads to the Patriots, all that would have stood in between the Ravens and another Super Bowl appearance two years ago was a very mediocre Colts team. They've actually had 1 below average year with Flacco as QB which happens to be last year. Do you have any concept of how you are skewing things?

I think Elway knows that game pretty well and how to expose it !!

Knows the game so well that he refused to play for the team that drafted him. Reason he said was because he wanted to play in the NFL, not in Baltimore.

All that proves is he has no respect for one of the foundation cities of the NFL. I'm guessing most people in Denver wouldn't have any concept of that. It's a shame.

I guess the Colts didn't respect that foundation either.
