The sad thing is that we're early in the process. Everyone's getting their unmentionables in a bundle right now because the media is whipping up a storm about it.

How did I miss that part? Why should James really give a crap that some team he has no interest in signing with and will be competing against next year is having a hard time because he's considering his options? If he's actively colluding with the team he's going to eventually sign with to make things more complicated then that's another story entirely. But what's out there is that he's opted out and weighing his options. If the Rockets, Bulls, Knicks, or whoever else can't make a decision because they're waiting to see what James does is that really his problem? He's basically unemployed right now.

Uh, there are 2 team that are waiting directly for him to decide. Those teams also can't do much until he decides.

This also trickles down to other teams who will be making moves once they know what is happening with the Heat and Cavs.

None of this is happening in a vacuum. It effects virtually the entire league.

Where in the CBA does it say that a player needs to give a time frame for when they're going to sign?

It doesn't. However, the title of the thread asks if he's being inconsiderate, not if it violates the CBA. Just because he's not violating the CBA, doesn't mean he's not being inconsiderate.

Wow, if you can't understand why him not having a contract has absolutely nothing to do with whether or not he's being inconsiderate, I can't help you.

He has no contract because he OPTED OUT of an existing contract with the Heat. He CHOSE to put himself in this situation and he is currently CHOOSING to continue to drag this out.

It really is that simple.

He is a free agent and free to be inconsiderate to an organization that helped him win not 1 but two championships. Cleveland is not something that was just sprung. The season has been over for quite some time and plenty of time to think and discuss with family and decide. What he is doing is crushing the Heat's chance of fielding a competitive team by not deciding earlier. He is free to do what he wants, but must live with the consequences.

I still thank him for a great 4 years and one helluva run.

Yeah, because the the Heat were operating at a loss so he could get them. He's a cash cow and the ownership benefited as much as he did. I'm not a fan of the guy but anybody that thinks he should be concerned about the greater common good of a league with degenerate owners and players who are all rolling in cash is living in a dreamworld. We aren't communists and he really doesn't owe anybody anything.

He opted out less than 3 weeks ago and the next season is months away. How is he holding up anything? Don't you think 100 million+ dollar decisions are worth a little consideration? Why the hell should he put his needs behind those of the other free agents in the market just because he's better than them? He's not stopping anybody from doing anything right now so if teams or players want to make a move then they should just make them.

I can't stand the guy because he seems like a egotistical jerk but people are being beyond ridiculous right now.

I'll say this

Even if Lebron gave us a "timeline" it wouldn't simmer down the frenzy. Can you imagine turning on ESPN, they'd have a countdown clock every Sportscenter til the day he makes the decision.

This is what I think

Lebron is leaning towards returning to Miami (and has been from the get go) but his inner circle wants him to return to Cleveland. Lebron hanging out with his old friends has brought back a lot of nostalgic feelings and good memories. This has caused Lebron to rethink and reassess the situation.

Sure this whole Lebron thing has dragged out a tad bit, but maybe the guy is really still on the fence. I'm sure there's a lot of mixed emotions going through his mind and a lot of things he has to weigh in making this decision. Would it appease the fans some if he gave us a deadline? Yeah, sure. But if I were someone in a position of power with a big decision that I have to make...if I didn't have to have a deadline...why would I self impose a deadline for myself.

And honestly...it's only been what 2 weeks since free agency has started. That only seems like an eternity to most people, because people are constantly checking twitter, social media, and other media outlets for updates every minute.

I don't think most fans who aren't a fan of the heat or cavs so much care who he chooses. It's fact that he's locking up rest of free agents being a baby about it.

If the Lakers weren't getting him or carmelo they could have possibly gotten Lowry, gortat, Steve Blake etc.

if he gave a timeline people would just beat on him for trying to make it all about him and trying to gain spotlight etc etc.

there is literally nothing he can do to please people

He is NOT locking up the rest of the free agents. Teams are choosing not to act, but again, that is not LeBron's fault. They could move on if they wanted to. Cleveland and Miami could move on if they wanted to. It would be foolish, but they could.

By the way, the Lakers getting those guys would not really help unless they signed them to 1 or 2 year deals. Cap space in 2016 is the key for LA because Kobe's contract has essentially ruined any chance they have to contend. The Lakers are wisely holding out for Melo, because they know he is one of two players on the board that have a chance to make a real impact.

Again though, that was the Lakers choice to wait on Melo and to not pursue those other guys.

Well there was the whole dad getting murdered thing that prompted it (or the banishment for gambling thing if you buy that theory).

I know a lot of people are frustrated and saying that LeBron's indecisiveness is unfair to the other players in the league, but.....

that is complete BS.

These are all grown men and this is a business. LeBron has every right to take his time and the teams and other players involved have every right to move on before he makes up his mind. They won't because they want to see what he does before making their decisions, but it is totally unfair to say that LeBron is holding everyone up. Nothing is happening because the other players/teams are choosing not to act right now. Chris Bosh could make a decision today as could Carmello Anthony and the other big players in free agency. Just because they are choosing to wait also, does not mean that this is all LeBron's fault.

Don't put this burden on one person. When he is ready, he will make his destination public. Until then, everyone else needs to make the best decision for themselves and their teams and get off LeBron's back.

Because in the end he's gonna make the decision to stay where he is. Its all for the drama, thats all it is. Lebron is selfish and will play with the most selfish team. I don't even care about the NBA now. I knew he was not gonna be a mav and could not root for him if he was.

He is holding up people. I'm upset because the Lakers are being held up in this process(along with many other teams). Houston can't make a decision because Bosh is waiting on Lebron. The Lakers can't move on to plan B because Carmelo is holding out hope that he can play with Lebron. The Bulls and Knicks can't move on for the same reason. Alot of names are waiting it out because teams like the Lakers have money to offer. Here's in my opinion were he's being inconsiderate. MIAMI can't go after key free agents because they can't tell them what type of cap space they'll have and if Lebron will come. I don't blame him for getting his money, but I think he'll regret not telling Miami that he'd play for less if necessary. That way they could have made a more solid pitch to free agents. The person I feel most bad for in this situation is D-Wade. Left that 40 mil. on the table AND might get stuck with a significantly lesser team.
