I think Allen needs to go. You need to make roster moves, and clear cap space. Allen, Miller, Rashard Lewis all need to retire. Allen makes the most, but if they aren't going to trade Bosh he's the next logical guy to move.

Find a legit defensive big man. Oden is not that guy.

Miller makes 6, Allen 3. Anyway, even if they amnesty Miller, which Riley said he didn't want to do, I'm pretty sure we wouldnt have addition cap space. It would just save them luxury dollars.

Brooklyn bench is actually not that bad if they're able to bring back Blatche.

They would have Watson, Brooks, Teletovic, Blatche, and Plumlee as their bench.

I think they're a top 4 team in the east.

Definitely a top 4 team in the East for sure. Everyone wants to say the West is weaker now, I say BS. OKC will have Westbrook back and the Spurs are the Spurs. Factor in the Warriors striving last season and Memphis' push as well (have to see how their coach turns out) and I still say that the West is still strong. Also have to factor what the Clips will look like w/ Doc out there and with CP3 possibly resigning. Dwight looks like he could be heading to the Rockets which could push them to a top 4 team in the West...possibly.

The East is just top heavy right now with the Heat, Bulls and Pacers. Sure the Nets could be thrown in there but they're still a very old team. Ask Lakers fans (no offense) what a team looks like on paper when 2 of your super stars are really old (Pierce and KG). Their loan rebounder on the starting 5 will be KG.

As a Heat fan, I'm not intimidated by the Nets, just amused and entertained. The only team that gives me real concerns out in the East are the Pacers if/when they resign David West and possibly the Bulls.

Well they have to do SOMETHING. This roster intact does not 3peat IMO if Chicago and Indy are healthy.

I think Blatche is a free agent but if he comes to the Nets then they will have a great bench. Blatche was one of the best big bench player in the league last season. Teletovic has been pretty shitty but he can shoot he just needs to refine his game more. Watson is a solid backup pg too. My only concern is that Kidd wants to run a faster paced offense, so Pierce and KG need to get their minutes limited. Iso Joe also can't be Iso Joe anymore. If the ball keeps moving than the system could work. I think (hope) it should work and the Nets could actually contend for a championship. KG and Kidd should have a great effect in the lockerroom.

As a Celtics fan, I'm glad they dumped KG and Pierce. This makes the Nets a contender because believe me KG and Pierce still got game. The players we got probably wont help, but the 3 1st rounders is nice. They should of gotten Brooks, but oh well.

KG and Pierce will be great with Kidd, but you wont have much 2-3 years down the road, so enjoy the 2 seasons while you can. I'll admit you could be great next season.

Everyone wants to say the West is weaker now.

I must not have been paying attention, but I haven't really seen this anywhere. It is an asinine statement.

The East has seemingly been the weaker of the two since Michael left the Bulls the 2nd time.

Just look at all the teams they have had make the playoffs with sub .500 records over the years while the West seems to put above .500 teams in the lottery every year.

The west has been stronger for some time, but the East is closing the gap. I mean 5 years ago the west was way ahead of the East, now not so much.

What an awful trade for Boston. How lopsided can one trade be?

Good move for the Nets. They're all in for a championship and this was the only way to improve their roster since they were capped out. I don't like it from Boston's side. Those 3 pick won't amount to much although maybe they can package them later on. And I don't like taking back the salary they did if I'm doing a rebuild. The plus is that roster stinks so they should have a lottery pick next year

Your joking right? We got 3 top picks for players who are over the hill. We can't win a championship, so why not get 3 top picks and some players? In the bean its championship or nothing. Yeah next season we probably get to the second round, but that's nothing to us.

Well the last 2 yrs it haven't been that bad. Last yr every team in the eastern playoffs had an over .500 record and this year Milwaukee was the only team in the playoffs with a sub .500 record. In the last 4 yrs there only been 2 teams with a sub .500 record that made the playoffs.

I think Lopez will play as the best C next year. His stats were deflated last year because of 3 main reasons. Avery/PJ did not use him enough or give him enough minutes. The Nets had one of the slowest paces in the league. They also had NO SPACING with Wallace and Evans. With Pierce and KG Lopez will have so much space. Lopez was already blocking a lot of shots, if he can be quicker on his defensive rotations and be more focused on rebounding I can see a 25/10/3blocks a game average.

3 top picks? LOL those picks are going to be in the 20-30 range except for maybe the 2018 pick but the 2014 and 2016 pick will be between 20-30.

You're not finding any franchise players most years if you're picking between 20-30

especially Pierce. Wonder how C's fans feel about this.

They go from losing Rivers 24 hrs ago to now also losing their whole team too. Crazy!

I'll root for them assuming we don't make something work around rondo. If we can't win it would be good to see them beat Miami.

I think their hands are pretty much tied this season.
They are back to back champions, so I dont see it as quite the dire situation that you are seeing.

What they need to do is to make sure the players they do have all find a way to improve parts of their games.

As far as injuries, who knows, but it sure would be nice to have a heathy Wade during the playoffs for once.

There's no doubt about that. Hard to get much more lopsided than it was at one point.

Defensively we won't be as good as those teams but the Nets give me one hope that they can beat the Heat and that is Lopez. Hibbert is a good C but his offense isn't that good and he looked like Kareem playing against the Heat. If Hibbert can do that Lopez should dominate the Heat bigs since he is the best offensive C in the league. Unless the Heat get bigger by adding Oden or someone else the Nets will be a threat because of Lopez.
