No More "Bullpen Failure"
The Rangers will try to win another series this weekend against a formidable opponent. The Rays are 4-2 coming into this series.
The Rangers will send out Mahle, deGrom and Rocker. Mahle and Rocker will each have to be much better than they were the first time they took the mound if the Rangers are to have a chance to win those games.
The Rays three starters have ERAs of 1.50, 3.00, and 0.00. It should be noted that the Rays have faced Colorado and Pittsburgh to begin the season. Both of those teams finished in the bottom half in team hitting last year, so we might need to take their ERAs with a grain of salt.
It is time for the Rangers to start hitting. I know it is early, but this poor hitting goes back well beyond the beginning of this season.
From what I heard, Marcus Semien was supposed to get Wednesday's game off until Seager needed a day off. Let's see if Semien gets tonight off, instead.
The Rays scheduled starting pitchers are all right handed, so it looks like we will get a full dose of Leody Taveras this weekend, and no Kevin Pillar. It may be time to move Langfird to CF and let Smith play LF.
