This is why this board is fucking awful. People spend more a lot more time slinging insults than actually discussing things at higher than a 2nd grade level.
Good Lord, stfu.

That is an obvious troll and you are either too dumb or too desperate to see that.

Oh my stars, a new, completely retarded poster...we must welcome him, and shower him with compliments.

Lighten the fuck up. I assure you it will add years.

When you see an actually retarded person at the grocery store or something, do you start acting retarded as well and then use the actually retarded person's presence as an excuse for your behavior? I'm guessing no. Why do it anywhere else then? Rise above, or everyone hits the bottom of the barrel together.
Jesus fuck dude. Turn it the fuck off.

Most of us come here to get away from the day to day strife of life.

Take it out your wife or cat, fruitbag. Leave us the fuck alone.

I saw somewhere that the Vikings were sneaking on him. They were poised to grab him at #14, then when they couldn't, they traded down and somehow still got Darrisaw at 23 (good pick). Someone was going to stop his slide, it's just a matter of who it was going to be. You can nitpick any move like this all you want but fact is, if he works out and becomes akin to Deshaun Watson, the price we paid will look like peanuts. If he doesn't then it won't matter much as we'll be bottom feeders anyway and thus take another stab at a QB in the top 10 in 4 years.
No inside knowledge, but I wouldn't have been surprised. I think Mn is looking to move on from kirk in a year or two. I wanted Mn to get fields, and I think chicago got a good QB.

I feel worse case scenario he's Josh allen
(Although he's more accurate than Josh allen)

We made the move because Fields was a top 5 pick that dropped to 11 in and was the last of the “best shot to be a franchise qb” left after 3 went top 3. Many regarded him as a lock cinch #1 top of the draft QB pick in any draft not including Lawrence. We got top 5 value and a potential stud player at the 11 spot and he wasn’t going to go beyond another couple picks at best.

Nobody is laughing at us. Quite the contrary. Many think we got the steal of the draft.
Whether that plays out or not remains to be seen...but Fields is a stud talent and not nearly the reach that Mitch was. Highly likely he’s at worst equal but most likely superior in talent to anyone we could draft at qb in 2022.

If we really wanted a qb, the way the draft unfolded in picks 1-10 let this basically fall into our laps. If we overpaid, it was slight considering Fields’ talent....and the 11 pick factor is irrelevant. Most are looking at this like

we traded into top ten because of what we got.

Basically this guy fell into us. We should feel fortunate.
I agree. I thought bears were dumb moving up for Mitch, think smart moving up for Fields.

When saw bears move up, went oh fuck there goes my dream.

I like him better than lance who went 3rd.

Someone is lying

PnkPanther: "I like Trubisky, but he has a lot to prove...I have 0 issue with Bears trade"

More my memory is off. But going into draft I was high on watson so Mitch going before watson. But I'm generally believer if you want guy, go get him.

I also said he a lot to prove and lot to prove.

I still like him, Saturdays are for licking titties.

As a general rule, I'm either for standing pat with our picks or if anything, trading down to get more later on the in the draft or following year's draft. So in one sense it's a bit of a letdown that Pace traded up to land our first two picks, with the primary cost to the Bears next year's 1st rd and yesterday's 3rd rd. But I gots to say, if he had to do this, he scored pretty damn well on both selections, at least on paper. Fields has that all-purpose talent in both run and pass attributes, which should make for a nice career. Very athletic with a nice strong arm.

I'm almost more giddy over the Jenkins pick, who was deemed 1st round material by many draft sites, and usually ranked in the top 5 or 6 for this year's deep OL class. Nice to know we have a tackle who can play on either side of the line (he'll obviously begin on the right side), and is equally adept at both run and pass blocking. All in all, two very nice draft picks - again, on paper, but you have to start somewhere.

In other words, you don't like trading up unless it's for a player worth trading up for....WOW

Spectacular insight there. You add a lot to the board.

Sorry I don't have the one-line bits of sheer depth and wisdom that you're always able to come up with, such as:

*Glad we didn't tank (rolls eyes)
*The genius sees things that others don't
*This board is full of idiots

Whew, now those are some deep observations there!!!

Been away on TDY and walked into Da Bears drafting Fields and Jenkins.

Oh boy, there is hope again. Great picks.

Could say the same for Foles too.

I'd take Mitch over Nagy, tho that's like saying you take moldy dog shit over cat puke.
Hey BD, what do you think about the draft so far? I am looking forward to seeing what these young men can do.

Got another olineman. A lot of people are speculating that Jenkins is a RT and Borom is a OG, but part of me thinks pace got Jenkins as a LT and Borom as a RT.

I like the picks. Two day-one starters, and a third pick that could be a starter down the road.

Jenkins looks to be a beast.

Definite possibility, but unless the Bears are planning to get rid of Leno, who is entering his final contract year, I think they picked Borom more for depth, at least for this coming year. He brings versatility to his resume, which includes stints at three of the 5 OL positions, LT/RT/RG. I see a bit of a difference in terms of the kid's size and height, altho they're negligible. The Bears have him officially listed as just under 6'5", 322 lbs. FanNation has him at 6'6", 332. Wonder which one is correct.

But back to Leno and his contract, I'm never up on the details as to the cap hit or other factors that might result in the Bears parting ways with him sooner than the contract expiration. So again, you may be on to something. I know the way Leno's play has regressed in recent years, this will be at best his final season with our team.
