Close. Looks like we received a 5th for Miller + our 7th.

Better than the rumblings and bitchings I was seeing about from the deal...but still disappointing as we traded up for the dude in the second to begin with. Never panned out. Talent was there, so hard to fault Pace. Thankfully it looks like Mooney is going to be legit so that helps make up for it. Tired of screwing the pooch on receivers in the draft and being forced to survive the position in FA.

That's the pisser in all this. Pace actually traded up for this guy. And I'm not gonna lie, I bought into the hype completely. From the moment the pick was announced, I had Miller pegged as the sure #2 WR on the team. Not nearly the disappointment that David Terrell brought us (easily one of the top three or four worst 1st round picks in Bears history), but as over-hyped receivers go, Miller's not really all that far behind.

LOL, well no doubt White slips in ahead of Miller, but not Terrell. At least Kevin had the semi-excuse of kicking off his pro career with countless injuries. Remember those first few weeks in camp before he developed those shin splints or whatever TF issues they were, he was actually receiving decent reviews. Now had he not suffered any injuries at all, would he still have turned out to be a bust? Possibly, maybe even probably.

But Terrell OTOH had no built in excuse, he just flat out sucked.

Hearing Dalton looked like an 11 year Vet in practice and well, Fields looked like a rookie in his 2nd practice. Sounds about right.

It’s not going to be a banner season unless something dramatic happens. Fringe just in or out playoff team tops.

I have a hard time believing Dalton is the same or worse than Mitch.

Well Im not one to say White was a bust Im more into he was injured and never really had the chance to shoecase what he could do....
Granted he was damaged goods when drafted, but its not where he was healthy and just didnt have the talent to make it.....

So Id kind of give him a pass.....

I tend to think McClelkan,Carimi and Haynes who were healthy players qould be bigger busts than White....

They had a chance to play White didnt.....js saying.

I hope this isn't becoming one of those 'uh oh' type of draft picks the Bears are famous for.

Heh, the other tackle that many Bears fans were wanting Christian Darrisaw, drafted by the Vikings just had "core surgery", whatever the hell that is, and is out an indefinite amount of time.

Nick Foles to the Colts? Reich and Foles both want it. I'm sure it'll happen. Hope Pace is savvy enough to get a pretty good pick.

I think Miller is actually more frustrating than Terrell and White. Due to the fact that he was typically healthy and the talent was clearly there. We actually saw him dick tease us at the end of 2019 for a little over a month. It's not that he isn't "good enough" to be an every down receiver and succeed. He's just an idiot.

He just returned yesterday, apparently. The surgery was a while back. They were being cautious to start camp.

He had a groin injury his final year in college. Then, yeah, it lists "core surgery". Sounds like a really bad abdominal tear? Tearing an abdominal muscle so badly that you need surgery sounds rather... umm... unpleasant. lol

Miller was extremely disappointing no doubt, but he was only a 2nd round pick. Terrell was a 1st and if I recall the7th pick in the draft. And even Miller had injury issues, altho those don't absolve his otherwise lackadaisical play. Terrell OTOH was just sheer garbage.

True. When you take into account draft position - Miller is 3rd out of the 3.

I suppose I'm just looking at it through the lenses of "Terrell just sucked" and by the time White got on the field our hopes were basically dashed of him living up to his top ten overall billing anyway. I never saw much to inspire me from either guy. Miller was the one who actually got out there, did a lot of things right in 18 and 19. Had big games, made big plays, etc. Unlike the others, he demonstrated that he actually COULD play at a high level. He just didn't have the discipline to follow through on it and take the next step into a breakout caliber year. Which is extremely frustrating.

Maybe a fresh start in Houston will help him wake up. That would make it even worse as a Bears fan, though. lol

I suppose our only real strong "hits" at the WR position in recent memory are Marty Booker, Alshon Jeffery, and I'll toss in Johnny Knox as a 5th rounder who produced well (despite his career being cut tragically short). Earl Bennett and Bernard Berrian produced well for 3rd round picks, I suppose. Mooney looks like he's on track to be another. A lot of misses in the first three rounds, that's for sure. Others that come to mind are Mark Bradley, Dez White, Juaquin Iglesias (lol),

Jesus Christ David Terrell could be argued as one of our worst draft picks ever...much less at the receiver position.

How in the f*ck did we go from McNown to Urlacher to Terrell? Literally from worst ever to best ever to worst ever again. F*cking draft man.

We should call this year's roster the M*A*S*H unit. Just a ton of god damn injuries and of course the usual covid holdbacks to boot.

Interesting that we didn't think Rodney Adams did enough in those preseason games to warrant a roster spot. I mean...It is preseason so whatever...but it's not like we have some sort of plethora of awesomeness at WR.

Apparently he was all set to be on the roster until we signed Perriman. Too bad, I liked the guy.

I like Perriman enough as a depth option. However, Adams was intriguing as an unknown who was balling out in the pre-season. I was interested to see what kind of a role he could carve out.
