There's a good chance the Bears could start off 1-4. If that happens I think Foles gets the start against Carolina.

They open up against at DET, NYG at home, at ATL, and INDY at home. Hard not to see at least 2-2 out of that. Even if their the same team they were last year. Nobody knows exactly what TB will be in Week 5 either. I've been predicting a solid start from the Bears followed by a lull later on as the schedule gets tougher.

I have plenty of reservations about this team, but I would say 4-1 is more likely than 1-4. Those first three games make a pretty inviting September schedule.

That's fair. Det is now a better team with Stafford back, NYG should be more improved in Daniel Jones second year, at Atlanta is no gimmie and Indy with an upgrade at QB is a better team. TB is loaded with offensive weapons but still a question mark as of now. If Tribs turns it around 4-1 is possible but I'm just not sold on him yet.

I honestly think they could go 4-1 while being roughly the same team as last season. They won 3 of 4 and then 4 of 5 last year, at two different points. I have zero faith in Mitch, he's brutal. At a bare minimum, the D will keep them in all of those games, though.

Zero of those games are gimmes. Not saying that. Detroit is legitimately going to be a solid team, IMO. People forget that they were extremely competitive before injuries hit last year.

However, the Bears are, at the very least "as good" as those teams. Certainly better off than a couple. Sans TB if that situation lives up to the hype. Indy would be debatable and really hinges upon Rivers having something left in the tank. I could envision Rivers going either way over there.

2nd year is typically tougher for QB's than year 1. Sometimes there are exceptions. I don't know if Daniel Jones is that guy. Is their D upgraded? Genuine question, I don't know.

The point isn't that "I think Bears go 4-1". I would not bet on that. I would bet a hefty, hefty sum on them not going 1-4, though. Barring, of course, injuries hit in a massive way. Which is always a possibility.

I actually brought the notion of 3-2/4-1 up as a potential negative pertaining to our QB situation. It could give Mitch a long leash and stabilize him as the starter in Nagy's eyes. Then, by the time we turn it over to Foles, it's too late. Due to the trust he earned vs an easier schedule early.

Trubisky looked pretty good today. Bad opponent but he made plays and came back late, on the road

It was a tale of two halves. In the 1st, he looked like the same Mitch Trubisky who really doesn't belong as a starter in the NFL. But he really came on strong in the 2nd half, topped by that excellent 27 yd TD pass to Anthony Miller for the game winner.

Seems Detroit went conservative too soon. Both on offense and defense. Should have won the game on the second to last play. Don't know that receiver but that's catch expected of even a below average NFL reciever.
